That just sounds really dangerous.

Win A Rabbit 01-04-2008 06:01 PM

i was kinda skeptical about it at first, but i've never had one explode on me.

one time i found a couple shards at the bottom of the bowl when i went to pour the water out, but i hadn't even noticed that one had cracked apart.

bleep_bloop 01-04-2008 06:05 PM

what do you do with them though

Win A Rabbit 01-04-2008 06:08 PM

That's what I'm asking for suggestions on. :)

Right now I just have a couple in the fishbowl, and then a couple in a decorative bowl in the living room.

Trying to think of applications for kids 12-17 that's more useful than "put them in a fishbowl"

Wrap some copper wire aroung them and make a tree type thing? Might not be useful, but if you did it well it might make a cool decoration.

bleep_bloop 01-04-2008 07:10 PM

you could put them in random people's mailboxes and they would be like 'hey look a cool little marble'

Hey, i'm friends with the people who created DIY Punk Zine, a zine based in CT; i wrote a review of Zeke's new EP, Kings of the Highway. I also submitted my band, Don the Flaming Squirrel's, first album, "The Donut Album!" for review. http://www.freewebs.com/dontheflamingsquirrel

Your links don't work.

asdf 02-16-2008 12:22 PM

A friend found a yellow shirt that wont fit her, but will fit me, so I'm going to put my bee stencil on it.

Unfortunately I think I brought my stencil back home, so I have to wait a few weeks to make it.

asdf 02-18-2008 01:04 AM

And today a friend and I tie-dyed with bleach and it turned out pretty sweet. I will be making more soon. Probably next weekend.

TBrown87 02-21-2008 08:11 PM

yay.

I made a fairly natty Black Flag patch, but I don't have any pics because I can't figure out digital cameras...

Liebensaft 02-21-2008 09:27 PM

Natty is an adjective?

Win A Rabbit 02-21-2008 10:37 PM

Lately I've been doing a fair bit of diy stuff for a project I'm working on.

Making buttons, working on some stencils, carving stamps, etc.

Saving us a bunch of money. :)

Win A Rabbit 02-22-2008 12:25 AM

here's the wallet i made a little while ago. just carries my basics (id, debit card, a couple bills), but i like it.

asdf 02-22-2008 12:29 AM

That's pretty neat, actually? Does it function easily?

Win A Rabbit 02-22-2008 12:33 AM

it's a little flimsy, but i'm used to it now.

really it's for looks more than functionality, but it's like 1/4 of the size of my actual wallet, so it's nice to not be lugging around random business cards/gift cards/change/whatever else is in my wallet every now and then.

super easy to make, too. just unscrew it, use wire cutters to cut out anything in the way, tie it together (or use an elastic band), done.

Yes it is an adjective.

Converge#12 02-22-2008 11:43 AM

okay this is something kind of offbeat however can anyone think of any ideas on how to make something when thrown at a person or the ground, the thing would cover someone in glitter... I checked google and stuff with no turn out aside pop a balloon over someoenes head it needs to be thrown.

wartomods 02-27-2008 01:05 PM

lets get funkier, how about homemade tattoos

All I can think of is those little pouch things that rock climbers use to powder their hands. Don't know if it would work with glitter.

What's a good paint to use on fabrics? I usually use acrylic paint but that fades pretty fast.

Speedball brand screen printing ink is one of the best imo.

Edit: they have both acrylic and fabric inks... Go for the fabric one

TBrown87 03-13-2008 09:28 AM

That's pretty expensive tho.:( Anything cheaper?
Yes it is an adjective.
I thought it was a beer.

TBrown87 03-13-2008 01:03 PM

Natty Beer?

It's a Jamaican term meaning cool or fashionable. I like it.

Sunshine 03-13-2008 01:32 PM

Natural Ice.
Natty Ice.

DrGolovaCroxby 03-30-2008 01:20 PM

I make my own money. Much easier than actually earning it legitimately.

Flagjacket 03-30-2008 02:13 PM
Natural Ice.
Natty Ice.
Its short for Cincinnati Ice

asdf 04-01-2008 10:43 PM

Well, since I used to post here a lot when I was crafty I thought I'd just share what I'm working on right now. I'm making a stencil of a tree, which will eventually be used on canvas instead of a shirt.
