Fernandes Power 04-11-2005 11:51 AM
Quick! someone recomend me a new band with awsome basslines! (no...not muse...)
OR Death from Above 1979.

Suggestions: Sum 41 (there are some good ones... specially new ones).
Radiohead??
New QOTSA stuff.
Kasabian.

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 11:53 AM
thats my opinion, but they offered me a free upgrade so i'm not complaining :thumb:
ofcourse, if it was free i would take it too..:p its not like i love the phone as much as my bass....

if someone had offered me a free upgrade to sadowsky from this wonderful bass, i would have said no... sure, i could have sold it and kept the money and bought a new, but it wouldnt been THIS ONE!

(wow, how did i manage that subject change....)

ElKapitan 04-11-2005 11:55 AM

I really like the Billiea Jean bass line. simple, but fun
i'm currently doing a cover of that song btw, hopefully be up and recorded soon!

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 11:57 AM

death from above 1979, was that the bass/drum band?

and no? i put "good" jazz and death metal bassists in the same thing.. play as fast and as much notes as possible... dont care wether it sounds good or no...

Youre actually mad if you mean youd pick a Geddy over a Sadowsky.

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 12:02 PM

is this love? yes it is!

if it was maple fretboard i might have had to consider it! :p

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 12:07 PM

let me say my opinion about Death from above 1979: "Eeeeeeh...."

Fernandes Power 04-11-2005 12:09 PM

Duuuude... all Sadowskys are custom.

They are amazing basses. $3,000+, The Geddy is $600 or something.

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 12:10 PM

soooo? geddy lee plays geddy's, and he have alot of wals and steinbergers..

fatbandit 04-11-2005 12:32 PM

Meh. I'd laugh if loads of us got famous and had JP basses one day...

My phone is poo and I don't care, but I do love my bass!

fatbandit 04-11-2005 12:41 PM

Tom Morello looks like such a dunce without a hat...

kilian 04-11-2005 12:51 PM

fatbandit 04-11-2005 01:31 PM

Bedrovelse 04-11-2005 01:32 PM

Bedrovelse 04-11-2005 01:35 PM

ElKapitan 04-11-2005 01:37 PM

I use Acid Pro
its easy to use, easy to find and not too bad. saying that, its not too good either!

ElKapitan 04-11-2005 01:38 PM

also, lots of ppl use Cool Edit Pro 2, but i cant seem to get the hang of it, ihavent tried too hard but its not as simple as acid but much better

kilian 04-11-2005 01:39 PM
For everyone without an idea of how recording stuff:
I record my stuff with a 5 euro computer microphone and a 75 watt guitaramp and an Mp3player with a line-in function. Just make sure that the mic. isn't too close to the amp's speaker, because then it will distort! I think you can also do it without the Mp3-player :thumb: Just record it directly into the computer!

http://www.soundclick.com/1-2-3-4-go
^^There is one song I've recorded this way

I am also going to use my winamp as an equalizer with the line-in function of my Mp3 player! Just upload the song to my computer, play it in winamp, adjust the EQ and use the line-in from the Mp3 player again to convert it :)

This will cause some data loss, yes.. But hé! It is an home recording :thumb:
And not very noticable
:D I record like that..

Bedrovelse 04-11-2005 01:39 PM

Il give it a whirl, il have a look see...cheers

any others?

( I just brought a Creative 7.1 sound/card and Drive so....i need something.)

Mitchell Royce 04-11-2005 01:40 PM

I like Death from above 1979's approach to the bass. But I've always been into making a bass screech and whine.

Bedrovelse 04-11-2005 01:41 PM

Seems like a good theory Kili, although i dont own a Mp3 Player..

ElKapitan 04-11-2005 01:46 PM

technically, i think u can just record straight through ur sound card using Windows Sound Recorder. as long as ur microphone is fairly decent and u mic up the amp properly it should sound alright.....i think so anyway
