You remember incorrectly. I use Pirate Bay like maybe once every two months, and that's only for films. Nice try, though.
I don't know whether he was pissed at me or you lol

Spat Out Plath banned me, how gay is that.
You guys, Slint's Spiderland show is not as good as listening to the album in your bedroom.
I find this hard to believe. Especially when the dude at the record store who always wears a Slint shirt was raving so much about it when he saw it in the UK.

Tangy zizzle 07-23-2007 10:00 PM

I can kinda see where dude's comin' from. Spiderland is one of those albums that becomes very personal to whoever's listening to it and different people will conjur different thoughts (yes this applies to most music but this record esp.) and feelings toward whilst listening.

So yeah, perfect bedroom music really. Still, live would be intense.

sgrevs 07-23-2007 10:58 PM

Seeing Spiderland live would be out of this world. Stuff like that never comes to Sydney :( or anywhere in Australia.

Thanks 07-23-2007 11:22 PM

It wasn't bad live by any means. It was cool. But I love the album, and that's really the only reason it was cool. It's not much of a show. They also take an immense amount of time between tunes, without any sort of filler at all (just dead space), and the band was generally just not into the set.

br3ad_man 07-23-2007 11:59 PM

Fair enough. I'd still pay big money to see it though.
Stuff like that never comes to Sydney
At least you get Blonde Redhead and Battles.

sgrevs 07-24-2007 03:29 AM

I wanted to go to Bonde Redhead, it's tonight! But I was supposed to be playin in some show at school and it got cancelled. By then it was too late to organise:(

I didn't even know Battles were coming, I'll look into that, thanks Bread.

sexymuffin 07-24-2007 03:31 AM

So were they good?

Thanks 07-24-2007 10:11 AM

I'm jealous that they played the EP. After Spiderland was over, I was really hoping they'd come back and give us "Rhoda," but instead they played that shitty song (that I'm assuming is the same as what they played at your show). I looooooove "Rhoda."

Bushjump 07-24-2007 11:24 AM

OK, who else thinks this band sucks? I've listened to them, and my opinion is that they just suck a big one. Anyone agree?

Yeah, almost as epic as your post. "Probably a bunch of gays"? Nice one.

br3ad_man 07-24-2007 08:08 PM

Shut up, Idaho is awesome.

Has anyone seen Girl Talk live?

Zebra 07-24-2007 08:25 PM

Heart of Palm is the only Idaho album worth listening to.

Thanks 07-24-2007 08:26 PM

Girl Talk played at Pitchfork, but everyone in charge were total pieces of shit. From where I was standing back (about the middle of the massive crowd), we were all chanting "turn it up!" because it was so quiet. So I left. I heard later that security made him quit early because people were getting "too rowdy" or some ridiculous shit like that. If it's in the interest of fun, let people get hurt, I say.
Has anyone seen Girl Talk live?
I did.

If you like Girl Talk, you'll love it. It's just a giant party. I saw him towards the end of a festival and it was one of the best performances.

Zmev 07-25-2007 02:49 AM

I could have seen either Girl Talk, Justice, or Blonde Redhead at one point.

I didn't see the first two.

sgrevs 07-25-2007 04:37 AM

So I'm gonna book to see Battles on the 26th of Sep. Wooo. I only just started really getting in to Mirroredthough, which is lucky. I've had it for about three months but it only just hit me as to how awesome it is. Who has seen them? Were they amazing?

Kyle 07-25-2007 04:51 AM

I think at least 50% of A&I has seen them now thanks to their mega-extensive touring. When I saw them they were stunning, I was amazed at the drumming and how loud and intimate the show was.

I'm also seeing them 3 times in the next month at 2 festivals and their own show :D

br3ad_man 07-25-2007 05:48 AM
I could have seen either Girl Talk, Justice, or Blonde Redhead at one point.

I would have done the same.

Girl Talk is playing a tiny venue here in January. My friend who keeps saying she wants to come to a show with me but doesn't like any of the music I like would probably come since she's all into oonts oonts music. Anyway it's a sweet venue and would probably like 200 people at the absolute max.

mozartv 07-25-2007 06:42 AM

Blonde Redhead is a cool band. Didn't Guy Picciotto from Fugazi produce some of their stuff?
