steve is certianley more.... intense. What with the mad, staring eyes, and the permanent grimace as he screams along to some of his own lyrics

AB/CD 05-13-2005 04:29 PM

AB/CD 05-13-2005 06:21 PM

ah well when that DVD comes out im getting it to see paschendale heard its great with all the barbed wire and cak on stage

Stew_Blink 05-13-2005 06:38 PM

Any one care to translate what this kid is going on about? I'd like to know what a 'kin "cak" is..and from the other post I'd like to know what foiund is..

It's kinda funny becuase you know Maiden is coming close to an end. They're all getting rather old now..I mean they can't exactly jump around on stage forever can they? Also with the release of The Early Day's, that would lead people to beleive they are going to do something like a The In-The-Middle Day's, which would lead to think they will make something like a The Final Day's.

Steve is by far the best bassist in metal. To me there is no doubt, he looks so **** cool on stage. His bass ability's are amazing, he can play stuff so well but what really takes it home to me, is that he has written SO MANY AMAZING songs. There are endless Maiden songs written by Steve that just make you go "Ohhh 'kin bloody god, this guy is good"

Deth 05-13-2005 08:05 PM

I don't think they'll break up. They have a lot of material left in them, and until someone dies, I think it will continue.

On another note, I'm proud of myself because I converted my Early Days DVD into audio files, so I can put them on my iPod.

MAthiAS 05-13-2005 11:06 PM

These guys may be getting older but they're still rocking pretty 'kin hard.

What would Maiden songs be titled if they were wimpier?

Afraid to Meet Strangers
Good Charlotte the Harlot
Where Beagles Dare
Tie Both Your Boots On
Fear of the Park
Mildest Dreams

That's pretty funny. I thought this might interest some people.
I misinterpreted Fear of the Dark (Iron Maiden). The line is "I have a phobia that someone's always there" . I thought it was faux mia (said as phobia with a "m" instead of a b)because faux ami is "false friend" or false idea in French, and I thought that faux mia might have been a fancy way of saying faux ami. They both make sense and sound similar.

Touch wood, lol. they'll keep on recording for a few years i think, but just not tour as much as they have in the past.

Thunder Fingers 05-14-2005 07:09 AM

Steve gonna die at that stage, no mather if its only him left running at it..

Josh 05-14-2005 07:12 AM

lol, to be honest actually it wouldn't surprise me if maiden kept going so long that one of them did die on stage

Stew_Blink 05-14-2005 10:15 AM

To be honest, if I we're in Maiden and I had all the success that they had, the only place I would want to die would be on stage..I think that after all the effort Steve put into Maiden, after he poured his heart and soul out into the music, he will never want to quit. I think Steve will play 'till the day he die's, and he'll just keep playin' all the way to heaven or hell or where ever he may go.

Bruce falls off the set and breaks his neck?

Stew_Blink 05-14-2005 10:34 AM

I'm thinking it'll be Steve..He'll be going all hardcore and a string will snap :p and it'll fly up and hit him..
none of u remember bruce fell off the ledge above nico and fell into his drum kit
Was that when he broke his wrist?

Firecracker 05-14-2005 12:35 PM

Bruce is a total beast, and is high up on my respectin' agenda.

AB/CD 05-14-2005 12:35 PM

dont htink he broke anything all i no is he fell right into the kit and janick was the first to stop playing (part from nicko) so steve thought janick had done something wrong and was gonna crack up at him then he seen bruce lying on a load of cymbals altho bruce finished that show even tho he was in a **** load of pain while singing

Moses 05-14-2005 12:50 PM
John Myung uses twice as many fingers as Steve to pluck, but he's only half as interesting to listen to. How about that! :p

Now Playing: To Tame a Land

Cool.
I thought Steve use everything on his right hand, I've seen him use his pinky and thumb.

rik 05-14-2005 01:00 PM

Nope, only uses two. He sometimes plays with him thumb for songs like The clansman (the intro part)

..Hmm, I'm wondering how Steve COULDN'T notice that! The drum's for a song stop, as does the guitar..and all of sudden Bruce is no where's to be seen :p..that would seriously hurt, I'd cry :upset: haha

vashts80 05-14-2005 04:57 PM

Steve technically uses three, as he uses index and then middle and ring together, and he uses his thumb as well. (Fear of the Dark, Clansman, stuff like that where it's slow and not galloping)

Yeah, he does use those fingers during arpeggio type riffs, but most of the time he just uses the two fingers.

No posts in 19hours!!!!! What the hells up?

GurS 05-15-2005 02:11 PM

uh... i was busy watching dr. who?

the_uber_penguin 05-15-2005 02:15 PM

Today me and my drummer were jamming (our bassist couldn't come).

We were talking about Nicko's bass technique.

He said "He does something like this" and started doing it slow..."so it should sound like this, and this is where I mess up" and started doing really fast bass drumming.

Me: :amaze:
Him: :amaze: I can do it! *Stops* I can do it!
Me: You know what this means? *Starts playing The Wicker Man*

So we played The Wicker Man, and he did the part most drummers do on a double bass, with a single (and pretty worn out too) bass pedal, and we sounded really cool.

Except where I balled up the solo.
