well ill let ya know what i think in like 7 minutes. Its at like 4.85 kbps.

I played 4 different parts of the song, to make sure my playing was ok...

not the whole 8 minute track...my thing only lasts like 1:30 or something

Moses, you were asking about the lineup for Lateralus. I think that it's gonna be you singing, Faith+1 drumming, JoZ on bass, and the guitarists are gonna upload their renditions, and we'll all choose the best one. That's what I think, anyway.

clearvision: beginning was off....for rhythm, i play the part a bit differently but i think yours DOES work well. As far as the solo, i think it sounded a bit labored. Id work on that maybe a bit. I havent worked on the song much besides the intro and the first hard part before the verse actually. i was using the wrong tab forever, Ben hooked me up with the correct one, and ive been working on other stuff.


As far as tone, i think that should be the least of everyone's worries. I figure, if i get it down 99.9%, then id worry about getting the "sound"

I'm a whore, and I am also bored out of my mind, so here's my rendition of the first solo in Lateralus. I used a Mesa Double Rectifier model, which is built into my effects pedal, along with some delay and some wah. It's not a perfect recording, but hey, close enough.

One word: Timing :p

Great sound, and you're hitting the right notes. The first solo is more complex than the second (both are childs play though as long as you have the feel). You were waaaay too quick at the beginning, and you slowed down too far at the end.

But that can happen sometimes, get those sorted, and you can gurantee your solo will be in the mix at least

Yeah, I'm out of my typically meticulous mode for some reason.

I applaud you for uploading before you actually heard your own recording. Thats a first.

In other news, I put an old mic in the mic slot of my soundcard out of sheer desperation. (previous attempts had resulted in lots of machine like noises and other audio nasties), and I actually picked up me tapping on the mic.

I will experiment futher tommorrow, to see if it can pick up an amp playing.

guitar and bass i guess. If you guys are going to do eulogy I guess we could do Pu**** or 46 and 2. (this is rounder btw). Personally I would like to do either eulogy or The grudge. Eulogy has been my fav Tools song for a while and Matter can play it now, and we've never tried that one yet. But if you guys are doing that, we will do something else.
