|
pandoras definitely the place to go for metal suggestions
is that sarcasm? |
you should be able to figure it out
|
idk
i typed in Electric Wizard and The Sword came on 1/1 tbh |
The Sword are terrible
gtfo |
Haha I liked Age of Winters when it came out but they are def not that great. Gods of the Earth was disappointing but they were never anything special.
|
Nice, seeing Salome tomorrow at a house show. I had no idea their vocalist was a chick.
|
so i heard you were seeing salome tomorrow at a house show
|
funny, i heard the same thing.
|
Yeah dudes. Also, going to be learning live sound from a guy who recorded Pentagram, Spirit Caravan, Earthride Melvins, and Trouble.
|
Lucky thang.
Tell Kat Katz her vocals are good. |
The Sword are terrible
gtfo
Yeah, srsly. |
The Sword are terrible
gtfo
i like their riffs quite a bit |
theres 2 or 3 good tracks on age of winters. everything else is just stonerdoom metal-lite for beginners.
|
entry level band
|
i liked how the riffs were like, what i always considered "stoner" and "1970s Rock n' Roll"
but hey im retarded |
yes, you are
Listen to good Stoner instead ffs |
name one 70s band that they sound like
|
idk ium new to the genre dude
yes, you are
Listen to good Stoner instead ffs
k i like electric wizard, sleep, clutch, orange goblin, high on fire, masters of reality, and YOB. any more goodies oh learned one? |
id rather listen to saviours than any of those bands tbh
|
you just said they sound like 70's rock and roll, you clearly know what you're talking about
and Clutch are boring as hell get some Viaje a 800, Causa Sui, Comets on Fire, Sgt. Sunshine, 35007, Kyuss, Ufomammut, Church of Misery, Sons of Otis, Queen Elephantine |
you just said they sound like 70's rock and roll, you clearly know what you're talking about
i do but i dont... what are some 70s stoner bands?
and Clutch are boring as hell
yeah they can be for sure
get some Viaje a 800, Causa Sui, Comets on Fire, Sgt. Sunshine, 35007, Kyuss, Ufomammut, Church of Misery, Sons of Otis, Queen Elephantine
i have CoM but i thought they were more sludge thanks for the other recs though |
id rather listen to saviours than any of those bands tbh
Half of that list are much muuuuuuuuch better than saviours, but to each its own i guess. |
electric wizard, orange goblin, and sleep are really the only good ones. yob is decent at best. clutch and high on fire are both awful. and i dont even remember how masters of reality sound, so i must not have liked them that much.
saviours is the **** tho |
YOB are more than decent. Listen to their new one.
|
illusion of motion was nothing worth listening to more than once. i have no interest in hearing anything else from them. i dont really even listen to stoner **** anymore anyways so ill probably never hear it.
|
What the f*ck, High on fire bad? Eat shiiiit.
|
lol the sword
|
ok fgt keep taking stoner metal suggestions from terrorizer
|
I was listening to HoF way before I even heard of Terrorizer. You like saviours but don't like High on Fire? Saviours are pretty mediocre stoner rock. They were fine live though.
Matt Pike is a god. |
nothing against matt pikes earlier works, but high on fire just sounds like hes doing a bad imitation of the stuff he used to be a master of
|
In interviews he even states that with Sleep he just wanted to continue where Sabbath left of in their first 3 albums. Sleep is a lot less original than High on Fire. I love both bands a lot but High on Fire has a lot more of an original sound. It has more aggression, you can see some motorhead and other classic metal sounds, but its a little less bluesy than Sleep.
|
TimJim listen to more Church of Misery, Houses of the Unholy ftw.
|
Not a fan really of High on Fire.
Sleep kills though. |
BORN TO RAISE HEEEEEELLLL
more like born to raise heil |
would Om be fit to discuss under here?
I listened to both Variations On A Theme and Pilgrimage today and enjoyed both. |
I think Conference of the Birds is the best tbh. God Is Good seems awesome, I still have to listen to it more.
|
Yeah I listened to Conference of the Birds ages back, it was pretty hypnotic. I'll listen to God Is Good before long.
|
Cool. Since we are talking about the more mellow side of the stoner spectrum, soon as I discovered them, I haven't stopped listening to Dead Meadow. Feathers is just amazing.
|
I listened to their s/t a long while back, it was good stuff.
