Crushed... By The Blasphemous Horror Within!

masterchaos 12-12-2007 07:28 PM

I prefer "punishing" myself...in a brutally crused sort of way.

hehe punishing myself

Valhall 12-12-2007 08:30 PM

Why must you children ruin the thread with pointless meandering?

i am the robots 12-12-2007 11:22 PM

You didnt follow the rules yourself Axl.

Hows the tone-deaf shredding goin for you?

Valhall 12-13-2007 12:19 AM

///ignores retardedness of remark.

No shredding as of late, working on sweeping.

EDIT: Aww, how cute. A 1 point neg. Could we be more immature?

C.O.A. 12-13-2007 01:30 AM

So I ordered the Winds Of Creation reissue. It comes with a live dvd. I am anxiously waiting for it to show up sometime soon.

Valhall 12-13-2007 02:00 AM

So after careful review of As Blood Runs Black's Allegiance, I have determined that, minus the gay full band shouting moments, this band is incredible, and the months of you all hailing All Shall Perish but damning this band are completely contradictory. They have no more breakdowns than ASP does, they don't "bree" nearly as much, and thier songs have more complex/interesting structures and parts than ASP. Dare I say, ABRB just might own ASP, and you are all fools with no hearing ability. If there's any difference at all, it would be that ABRB is more interesting to listen to than either of ASP's albums.

SugarCoatedSour 12-13-2007 02:13 AM

I listen to [insert overblown generic 5 words too long band name]: They're crushing to the max fellers, oh and those stomping rhythms and slashing guitar leads makes my chest cave in like a trampled popcan. \m/ METAL \m/

VomitStainedCretin 12-13-2007 03:00 AM

The uber-heavy chugs and annihilating blasts collapse the caverns of my brain...

In other news, Pestilence's Malleus Maleficarum is pretty awesome; favourite tracks at the moment are probably Parricide, Subordinate To the Domination, Commandments and Chemo Therapy.

FatalEnergy 12-13-2007 03:11 AM

Pestilence was such a great band with Martin fronting them.
crushing is the new brutal
When I first started listening to thrash everything was ripping, then it was all killer, then with black metal everything was elite. Now I just revel in the fact that I am a mature English gentleman. As in 'There's a new Detrimentum album coming out soon... should be top hole old bean'.

The difference is that ABRB is full of generic melodies.

TimJim 12-13-2007 09:09 AM

ABRB bad.

Great, I only have CI and TOTA and I was wondering how good that was. there's no need for me to question if it was worth getting because you can expect greatness from Pestilence, although I've heard bad things about Spheres.

@Fatal
They do pretty well without Martin on TOTA.

I thought the first album was bomb/offthehizzle, the second might have had some well written songs, the third sounds a little overambitious with the concept but nonetheless interesting.

I've listened to ABRB and dont see how what they do is better than ASP's Hate.Malice.Revenge. Its a lot more comparable to The Price of Exsistence, but still not as original music wise.

ABRB sounds like Black Dahlia Murder's Unhallowed, only 10x more generic and with a touch of KsE...

Even your band is better than these guys.

Valhall 12-13-2007 12:44 PM
The difference is that ABRB is full of generic melodies.
Which is still more than I can say for ASP, even if I agreed with you. The fact remains that ABRB is heavier, more brutal, more melodic, more complex, and more interesting to listen to than ASP.

Niether band is the best thing to come along obviously, but I just realised how full of shit everybody is for praising ASP so much while giving ABRB a ton of crap.

masterchaos: Hate. Malice. Revenge. is the worst of ASP's material, and that's fairly well known, especially for the crappier vocals of thier former singer. Why you would pick that for comparison is beyond me.

masterchaos 12-13-2007 12:55 PM

Its a lot closer to death metal than Price of Exsistence and ABRB

2:44 to 3:10 of The Spreading Disease walks all over anything I've heard from ABRB.

Gonads 12-13-2007 12:56 PM

I don't listen to Death Metal anymore because the fast drumming and monster vocals scare me:(

"Hester Prynne" (track 4, Allegiance) walks all over anything from ASP.

youre quite the fag arent you? "thats fairly well known", like musical taste is a form of knowledge. "hate.malice.revenge" is the best asp album, in my opinion
"Hester Prynne" (track 4, Allegiance) walks all over anything from ASP.
I dont even need to listen to that track because I know you're wrong...You can like them thats cool, but you think you have this gigantic cranium full of musical knowledge when in reality all you have is a really large forehead.

I will give you this though, ABRB's singer is pretty good.

Valhall 12-13-2007 01:06 PM

Since when did I personally attack you? Don't make it personal simply because I don't agree with you and actually dared to make a statement no one agrees with. Besides, your refusal to even listen shows how truly stubborn you are.

I will, however, concede that ASP's latest singer is extremely talented.

Pete 12-13-2007 01:13 PM

i am sorry for dragging your sexual preference into this, but you did make a lot of assumptions "back there"

TimJim 12-13-2007 01:19 PM

youre welcome Valhall

:naughty:

masterchaos 12-13-2007 01:20 PM

Im not trying to be stubborn, but when I listen to 6 or 7 songs from a band that doesnt "prove" anything to me I dont feel that I should listen to 6 or 7 more.

TojesDolan 12-13-2007 01:29 PM

break your own boundaries and listen to 8!

Ah jeez...I dont know.

I live in Powell Val

Sugar: very philisophical.

Valhall 12-13-2007 01:38 PM

Oh, right on. I was raised in Casper and am most recently from Gillette (though I just moved to AZ).

It's funny; it's very seldom I run into someone also from Wyoming.

masterchaos 12-13-2007 02:02 PM

Its about 13 degrees here if that. So Im guessing its about -20 in Casper since there isnt a windless day in that area haha. Small world indeed.

Ive been back and forth from here and Boise for the last 6 months though...
