The new Overkill is surprisingly bad, IMO. :(

The new Destruction sounds...meh. The only song I can really get into is "Soul Collector".

What 90's Overkill should I get?

I already have all the 80's stuff of course. I also have Horrorscope, WFO, and now RelixIV.

RCA 08-28-2005 10:02 PM

Bloodletting, Killbox13, and Necroshine.
Bloodletting, Killbox13, and Necroshine.
Son of a Bitch!! they had Killbox 13....I should've got that

Oh well.....so far I've listened to 5 songs on RelixIV and sadly it's only a 3/5 at this point. Love sucked way too much, and Loaded Rack was pretty lame.

RCA 08-28-2005 10:07 PM

A Pound Of Flesh is really good though. :D

FatalEnergy 08-28-2005 10:10 PM
A Pound Of Flesh is really good though. :D
Yeah, that's been my favorite song so far. Overkill's new style has a lot of groove in it. Which really has no place in thrash what-so-ever, but it's really not all that bad. I kind of like the way they've mixed it up and I hate all the stupid groove monkey riffs that plague everything now-a-days

NP: Overkill - Keeper .....this song is wierd, the first half was pretty lame and then really picks up and thrashes.

CaptainWaits 08-28-2005 10:23 PM

All Related Overkill Discussion Above Me:

I don't mind Relix IV, but it deffinetly doesn't compare to the other Overkill, only beats "From the Underground and Below" IMO. For 90's Overkill, the 3 RCA recommended are great, as well as "The Killing Kind".

And I find "Love" to be a good track, suprisingly one of my favorites on the album. I hate the opener and "Wheelz". "Loaded Racks" kind of cool too.

FatalEnergy 08-28-2005 10:24 PM

Relix IV scores a ......really low 4 out of 10 for me. I only liked four of the songs, pretty weak.

I counted Old School as a good one just because it was kind of fun.

CaptainWaits 08-28-2005 10:34 PM

Here's what I liked off of Relix IV:

2. Love
3. Loaded Rack
4. Bats In the Belfry
5. A Pound of Flesh
6. Keeper
8. The Mark 2:14

Those 6, the 3 in bold I like the most. Also, speaking of Overkill, I wrote an Artist Profile on them in a forum I admin. Some of you already know of the forum. I didn't take a whole of time doing the Profile though, so it may be a bit weak in a few spots. But here it is neverless:

RCA 08-28-2005 11:06 PM

Old School is definitely enjoyable.

FatalEnergy 08-28-2005 11:20 PM

For some reason I like "Bats In the Belfrey" it's groovy, but it's got a lot of aggression and stuff. It's catchy too.

So I see.

Man DC++ is great. I have so far downloaded Iced Earth Alive In Athens and Mekong Delta's The Music Of Erich Zann. Both at as fast as my modem goes :D

FatalEnergy 08-29-2005 12:21 AM

PETA = \m/

Okay, not really.......but, vegetarians = \m/, which is what I am.

Anyway, is the speed/kill/hate album worth getting?

RCA 08-29-2005 12:22 AM

I'd say it is, though the hardcore vox can sound pretty annoying at times.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-29-2005 12:23 AM

I don't think I could handle being Vegetarian very well.

/devours Ryan

RCA 08-29-2005 12:26 AM

/slays Jon from the inside-out

Same here. I have to have my steak!

FatalEnergy 08-29-2005 12:32 AM

It's not that hard being a vegetarian once you've been one for a while, I've been one for about 5 years and I don't miss meat at all.

NP: Exodus - Karma's Messenger

RCA 08-29-2005 12:36 AM

Well, at least you've found comfort in it. I DEFINITELY would wimp out and go back to eating cows. :p

Which Overkill live album is the best?

NP: Mithras - Worlds Beyond The Veil

RCA 08-29-2005 02:15 AM

All of them.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-29-2005 02:31 AM

Bah.

Last time I ask you for Overkill recommendations. All you ever say is all of them :p

metal-militia 08-29-2005 07:10 AM

Wrecking Evertyhing is great, buy it now. :thumb:

RCA has stars?

Apocalyptic Raids 08-29-2005 07:12 AM

They were given to him for being such a poseur.

:D

ThrashMaster27 08-29-2005 07:48 AM

I agree the interchange thing isn't fair, but it's perfectly legal. Anyway! we shouldn't be talking about cricket.

So, Morbid Tales....great album, don't you think.

P.S. We will take the ashes.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-29-2005 07:53 AM

I haven't heard Morbid Tales yet >_>

I need more some Celtic Frost albums. :(

metal-militia 08-29-2005 07:56 AM

Celtic Frost are brilliant! I like pretty much everything apart from Cold Lake.

Also good call about the Ashes :thumb:

np: Malevolent Creation - Multiple Stab Wounds

FatalEnergy 08-29-2005 07:57 AM

Morbid Tales is a classic, best guitar tone ever. No one likes Cold Lake, but there's a few songs that a actually pretty decent on there.

ThrashMaster27 08-29-2005 07:59 AM

I'm thinking I might upload Morbid Tales within the next few days or so, aslong as my work schedule isn't too pressing. Frost rule...but Tom G Warrior looked hilarious back in the days. That's not metal, it's just funny.

Anyway, I've been listening to RRROOOAAARRR! today, to pay my respects.

CaptainWaits 08-29-2005 01:26 PM
Anyway, is the speed/kill/hate album worth getting?
I wouldn't really say so. I'm a huge Overkill fan, and having a burnt copy of SKH is good enough for me. I'm not a big fan of the heavier vocals, I'm to use to Bobby :)
Which Overkill live album is the best?
I really like Wrecking Your Neck actually, but like RCA says, All of Them! Get the live DVD if you don't have it already though.

Terrorzone 08-29-2005 08:13 PM

Buy the DVD.
