I love Jesus, yes I do
I love Jesus, how 'bout you!

i'm cool now, right gice?

masscows 12-11-2007 05:41 PM

My siblings dragged me to a Christian Irish folk-ish concert thing called like flaming fiddles and faith or something. It wasn't that bad until they played an acoustic ballad with cliche "God is good!" lyrics. I don't mind it when people sing about what they believe in, but they could at least be moderately creative with it...

i am the robots 12-11-2007 05:41 PM

Good lyricism would go like this though:

Always did it on my own then one day I realized
I was blind, nothing I could do on my own
Turn, we have found a way to see, look up... feel the Almighty
Take control as we gaze into your eyes
We're just the tool you use to bring this world to you
Oh, Lord, how we love you
With your grace, take away the hurt and the bruises inside,
reach down let your glory reside
The cross carried for all of us, paint the image in my mind
So I will never think I am something,
but nothing am I but you, you are something
Lord you keep me alive, you give me rest at night
When there seems no way to find calmness in the storm you come and
take me in your arms and then the waves drown me no more
With you I'll last this battle and many others
Through the ages your name will reigh forever... never to be replaced
In these trials I face, I pray you humble me
Humble me I want to be like you Jesus more and more like you
I was crucified on that day with Christ
Nailing you there with sin, accepting you
I nailed my soul to the cross and now my life begins
This world so cold but your love keeps me warm
My father holds me in his nailed scarred hands which I put there
But for some reason he still loves me with all his heart
Even through I betray him constantly
He always keeps his arms open waiting, till I give up my old ways
God my father, you are the only one that can give me comfort
You touch my heart in such a way that all I can do is cry your name
Jesus Christ I love you
My heart aches for your love

masscows 12-11-2007 05:47 PM

ok, that was kinda gay, but it showed moderate inspiration/creativity.

But do you really think that making fun of cliche anti-religion death metal songs/albums/lyrics is going to help you get into heaven or something? Or are you just gay like that?

AA-12 12-11-2007 05:59 PM

After listening to the new Dismember I have to say i'm very pleased. It's great.

jesus christ will you stop posting PLEASE!

masterchaos 12-11-2007 06:00 PM

Wow the use of the word "gay" in your posts is just that.

Do those bands really think they are more "metal" because they denounce religion and Christ? Or do you feel more "metal" yourself for the same?

NemesisDivina 12-11-2007 06:03 PM

No, they simply write those songs and name them so because that has become their ideology, or perhaps facade over the years. It's probably not to make them look 'more metal' in the eyes of their fans.

Dargon 12-11-2007 06:03 PM
Do those bands really think they are more "metal" because they denounce religion and Christ?
They are. Perhaps you're unaware of the origin of metal.

NemesisDivina 12-11-2007 06:05 PM

Story time!

Please tell, Grandpa Dargon.

Dargon 12-11-2007 06:06 PM

One time a bunch of people hated the fake, happy facade of the bullshit society they lived in. So they created metal, and it was about the dark things society in general wouldn't explore. Then a bunch of stupid kids came and wrecked it. The end.

I honestly haven't seen you say anything that would indicate that you aren't overweight.

So no.

You just gained 50 e-pounds.

masterchaos 12-11-2007 06:12 PM

Yeah I wish you hadn't of done that Dargon...way to ruin a good thing.

I get the ideology of it and that its their "history", but more often than not the attempts at indimidation and superiority are just laughable.

Hmmm...seems to remind me of a certain poster on these forums.

NemesisDivina 12-11-2007 06:15 PM

Yeah but... Dismember is superior.

masterchaos 12-11-2007 06:18 PM

They are pretty great I will agree.

masscows 12-11-2007 06:20 PM

Anti-religion is just something to write about. Every band needs lyrics, but I'm sure some of the bands have their tongues in their cheeks and aren't totally serious about their anti-religious themes, they just want to write their lyrics well (this is mostly pertaining to death metal).

 @ the last few pages, anti-religion, etc
New Dismember sounds promising from the discussion, unfortunately clicking on that link seems like it'd require more effort than I'm willing to exert atm. I'm going to check it out later.

and whoever it was that recommended Depresy's The Sighting a while back, it was really good stuff. I didn't expect the atmospheric/synth parts though.

masscows 12-11-2007 07:01 PM

mappy, I got around to checking out Garden of Shadows and they're really great. Thanks for bringing them up so many times.

pate 12-11-2007 07:13 PM

Yeah, I listened to the new Dismember track before my finals today. It was good stuff, and propelled me to excellence on my tests.

Deth 12-11-2007 07:45 PM

\m/ Listening to metal always helps my test taking abilities.

The new Dismember is good. Hopefully that's on the slower end of the spectrum for the new album, I couldn't really enjoy a whole album at that pace.

Yeah great band. Glad you liked it.

I have yet to listen to the new Dismember, but I don't think my computer can handle it anymore haha.

NemesisDivina 12-11-2007 10:38 PM

It's just one song on their myspace... it's supposed to come out early next year I think.

Word. They're amazing.

VomitStainedCretin 12-12-2007 06:49 AM

New Dismember=Crushing. On the subject of Dismember and anti-religious lyrics, Soon To Be Dead has some awesomely cliched anti-Christian lyrics:
Hell awaits me
My soul is raped
I will get them I will kill them
At the end of time
As long they are free
Preaching their sh1t
I'll never find peace

pate 12-12-2007 10:38 AM

It is the default allowed size. You used to be able to go into http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213795
to request a bigger avatar. I think you had to write a mini essay explaining why you deserve it though.
