So I'm going to elaborate on what Herb said about the new album's themes to be centralized on space due to Blair's "updates." One lyric is standing out in my mind that would perhaps be a gateway from Lateralus to whatever's next. "Spiral out, keep going" is perhaps referring to unexplored areas of the galaxy.(I've said it before, I know) I say this because of the galaxy contains to spirals. I'm on drugs, so forgive me if this sounds butchered or anything, but you'll get the basic gist of it, I think. :D
Well also in Faaip de Oiad they were talking about aliens. |
True, very true.
Oh, and on a semi-Tool-related note: When I was in having my wisdom teeth removed, when they first gave me the nitrous, all I could hear was static, and I felt my body get all tingly, and it was almost as if I just kind of paused in time. Sound like an astral projection to anyone? |
Ha, I get those all the time......
......... .......... Not really. Well I'm gonna upload my vocals for Lateralus soon. The first verse and chorus are done. |
Well, let me explain. From what I've heard/read about astral projections, right before you are about to leave your body, you start hearing a bunch of static. [see: (-) ions] Oh, and if you've never heard of astrally projecting, it's like meditation, but instead of just relaxing in a sedated state, you actaully leave your body, and you can go pretty much anywhere. :amaze:

I know what it is and I think I've gotten one once but it was before I went to bed and it was really spinny and stuff so I stopped. Okay, here's my vocals. Some things are double tracked. |
I think you have to be asleep. Perhaps you just had a headrush or something. I've been having plenty of those recently. :-/ But yeah, you really have to be in a super deep state of meditation and such, so I doubt it was that.

No, it definately wasn't a headrush. It wasn't that kinda spinny sensation and I did hear static. I could have been asleep too but I don't think I was because it was really memorable. Ok, here's my vocals, some parts are double tracked to give it the sound that Maynard has on that song. http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=23NWIWIEP1QB91KQE0G81GSCFT |
Hey, where'd the guitar come from?
|
That's Chris' track.
|
Feedback?
|
I haven't heard all of the other vocals that have been done but,
I don't think you sound much like Maynard, but it still made the song sound good. I'd say a pretty good job :thumb: |
Boo 9 minute bumps. Please delete/merge Moses. Anyways, it didn't sound too bad. It sounds like you put one track to the left and the other to the right ear right? That is the only thing I'm going to complain about...It sounds very wierd. If they are both centered, then there is something very scary going on.

One track on the chorus. |
The vocals kindof sound off track with the guitar and drums at times..
Just being honest :upset: |
On the verse or the chorus? Whatever it is I'll end up fixing it, but besides that how are the vocals?
|
The verse, the vocals sound great cept they should sound a bit "stronger" on the chorus.
|
I'll end up redoing that with more oommph.
|
Actually it might just be that reverb.. maybe too much of it on the chorus?
|
No it's definately how I sang it. I sang a little too high ended and couldn't get any power behind it.
|
Your vocals souns good dude, just put tiny bit of more power on the chorus but I guess they alright :)
Dudes of tool check out this cover of apcs over. tis funny. http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1QZBR14MC6N061PM15DK8GDJP8 |
Faith, oh maaan, it is off! We all hate ourselves for saying it though haha
Look at the dots and dashes in context of the words... there's no possible way it could pertain to info about a release date. Therefore, Blaire is messing with us. |
Any news on the mics Expresso?
|
Blair*
And look at all the crap he posted today . .****a |

One track on the chorus.
Your rythm is off, on the verse and the chorus... And you're singing the wrong melodies at times Edit: ^^ Because that wasn't really very helpfull at all, I put your vocals take against the real lateralus track so you can hear where your rythm is off (I love how our backing track is so good that it matches rigth up with the original track).. You did the second part of the verse perfect :thumb: http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3590CBTIUO58L3MLSC82NLBAFN Double Edit: And I just checked, Faith doesn't make any mistakes on the drum track at all... They line up almost perfectly all the way through |
Ok, well I fixed the verse and I'm going to rerecord the chorus sometime soon so that'll be fixed.
|
I like yer voice dude. . . its soothing
|
Chris, the guitarist for Lateralus said that Marshall enters about half a second too soon on the clean interlude, but you can't even tell because it's a polyrythm in the first place. :p
|
Wierd though because it matches right up with the real track.
|
Yeah, Chris is on drugs. That's what I thought. He said that the end sucks, and I'm going to have to agree with him on that. :p
|
Its the musicians chain of command I bet. The gutarist cant be wrong, because:
Guitarist > Drummer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bassist. Vocalists are not involved in the equation, their egos wont let them I've not downloaded this one yet, ill see what I think (which counts for nothing) |
Anyone spoke to JoZ??? We need the bass to be re-done on aenima + we need a drummer to record the track...
|
JoZ was kidnapped.
|
Ben- DL it. It's good. :thumb:
Rob- I shall get right on it. He's on AIM, but his status is set to busy. :-/ So what do you guys think of the morse code thing on Blair's update on Toolband? Someone on Toolshed wrote out every single combination. |
JoZ was kidnapped.
By those rather strang TE forums members i thinks... Yeah, I don't think anythign can be made of the morse thing....someone got a lead on stittet with some norwegian translation, that's the best i've seen so far... |
So what do you guys think of the morse code thing on Blair's update on Toolband? Someone on Toolshed wrote out every single combination.
Like I said before, Blair knows people will jump over anything suspicious or with a possible hidden meaning. It woudnt suprise me if it does mean something, but the meaning is going to be something of Blairs, or even the bands own personal amusement |
He could say Danny Carey broke his arm and we'd all **** our pants.
|
Some of his crap has to mean something though.
Ben- Quit PMing me on tdn you bastard! |
