What if a copper suddenly strolled in? What would you do?
Say "hi" and carry on drinking. I only live in a little town, if it wasnt for underage drinkers everywhere would go bust. Coppers never rarly go into pubs anyway, and that one isnt in the centre of town, all i see them do is drive around in there vans. Theyve tried cracking down on it, but they always fail.
Definitely. They live longer, they're smarter and they have as much personality as a cat. Not a bad pet for $7
$7? Geeze. I should go buy one.

Ha ha.

Isnt the legal drinking age 21 in the states? Its only 18 over here, so i guess its easier to get served at my age.

One of the bouncers scared me last night. I was up stairs in the rock club part of that club i was on about, and didnt know there was a tiolet up there. SO i ran down to the tiolet, and the bouncer followed me in, i thaught "oh ****, im gonna get kicked out" and he just said "you do know theres a tiolet upstairs dont you" i was all " oh, no, thanks :upset: "

It's worth the investment. Just make sure you have them take down the cage so you can stick your hand in and pet all the rats and see which one is the friendliest. That's my usual strategy with rodent shopping anyway. If I get bit I'm obviously not going to buy the rat, but if it warms right up to me it's a definite match.

Good idea.

Now the only problem is convincing my mom to let me get one and not flip out. Hmmm.

Oh, a fair warning, it only takes a couple of weeks for them to start getting big and so you'll need a big cage from the get go. For Connor, I bought a rabbit-size cage, a big bale of wood-chip bedding, a water bottle, food dishes and food for about $115. That's the only expensive part is the accomodations. The only thing you really need to replace after that though is the food about once every couple weeks, and out here that's only about $6.

I think I have an old food dish and water bottle around here somewhere from my old guinea pig (that we had to give away because it bit my mom :-X). And I also have an old fish tank that I could put it in, so all I would need is food and wood chips.

That's not bad then. Make sure you find something for him/her to run around in too. The only exercise my rat gets is when I take him and let him run around the floor while I'm watching TV. He doesn't have a wheel because he got too heavy and broke his last one and he doesn't have a ball to run in because he's afraid of being closed up in one.

Gnarmageddon 05-30-2005 09:01 AM

Do they make the balls big enough for rats?

Edit: :naughty:

 Yes, they make them big enough for guinnie (sp?) pigs, so they're definitely big enough for rats.

Gnarmageddon 05-30-2005 09:03 AM

Alrighty. Well, hopefully I can convince my parents that they're worthwhile pets. I think I'm gonna go ask them about it right now.

Wish me luck.

jonesi1992 05-30-2005 09:05 AM

gud luck

Captain Jack Sparrow 05-30-2005 09:05 AM

Good luck.

Just tell them that rats are easier to take care of than cats, have just as much personality as a cat or a dog and they'll never run away from home after just a couple weeks of training.

Untitled 05-30-2005 09:08 AM

Bad luck (you didnt specify what type of luck you wanted :p )

Only joking, G' Luck. I hate rats myself, and any rodants realy.

jonesi1992 05-30-2005 09:11 AM

hate a rat, is that possible

Gnarmageddon 05-30-2005 09:12 AM

Ha. Thanks guys. I think it worked! I told my dad the bit about the cat and he laughed.

Apparently we don't have the aquarium anymore, so we would need to get a cage. But yeah, my parents said we could look in it. I threw in the part that we were thinking about getting this dog, and we decided not to, and I said I was sad about it.

So my parents are in the other room discussing it right now.

And my friend used to have rats, and they have them at the school my mom works at too, so my mom is cool with them and she actually likes them.

Jared, are their cages hard to clean out?

jonesi1992 05-30-2005 09:14 AM

fingers crossed

Not really. Rats poop a lot less than mice, so you only need to change their bedding once a week. When it's time, you just take them out of their cage for a couple minutes and let them do whatever, dump the bedding into a garbage bag to toss outside and put fresh bedding in the cage for them.

Captain Jack Sparrow 05-30-2005 09:16 AM

Oh, and make sure the bedding is about 3 inches deep because they love to burrow.
