ShelBel 09-19-2004 04:03 PM

I'm bored. *yawn* Its Sunday, I'm working, there's not much for me to do other than sit here... I did bring my bass and was dorking around with "Longview" and am back to cursing at my mutant pinkies.

LOL... sounds like fun

Radiobass81 09-19-2004 04:07 PM

Hey ShelBel, did you get a chance to test any basses out?

Wintermute 09-19-2004 04:08 PM
make your own!!! it would look cooler!
No, it looks rubbish. Home made clothes either make you look childish or like a punk - neither great looks.

Unless your really good at it, but you probably aren't.

Left Shoe 09-19-2004 04:11 PM

im amazing

Crapdragoon 09-19-2004 04:12 PM

That's on Thursday. :) I can't wait... I have a feeling its going to be a quick trip, though. We're leaving here at 2:30pm, drive down to Roseville (about 2 hrs), and we have a comedy troupe performance to be at in Minneapolis (about 30 mins from Roseville) at 7:00pm.

We'll see how much time I actually get.

Ha! I sew lots of my own clothes- and everyone asks where I bought them. Now I have an offer from a fancy-shmancy retailer in a trendy clothing district who wants me to market a line. I don't just make crappy easy stuff though, my last project was making a corset. :amaze:

Here's the real question though, I can't decide what to call my "line."

Right now I'm leaning towards either "Irregardless" or "Shiny Objects."

Suggestions?

*sigh* I have to write a report about a biologist that has died within the last 50 years...

Then I'm still pissed off about earlier.

I'm getting confirmed this year (church) and they presented to us today what we have to do in order to be a super l33t Catholic. It's an utterly excessive amount for something that my parents are making me do and I don't believe in. I have to:
*Make some report about Catholicism, as well as why I want to be confirmed.
*Get interviewed by the Priest and tell him myself.
*Write a letter to the Priest basically begging.
*Write a letter to the bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
*Do 3 volunteer "group projects", each about 6 hours long. Oh, and if I don't do them I can get confirmed (yep, I know I said they were volunteer).
*10 hours of community service
*Go to a bunch of annoying meetings.

As well as a bunch of other things. I'm tempted to say "I dislike your God as well as your ideals," but my mom made me feel guilty.

-.-

super deluxe 09-19-2004 04:37 PM

You want my confirmation paper? It's about "Why I want to be a Lutheran." I'm sure that would go over really well with the Catholics!

Better yet, for your community service, you should sell indulgences! :amaze:

yeah i ahd to do that or my parents said they would cut off my money supply , look at it this way , you get a chance to pick a new middle name , yeah
old middle name = joseph
new middle name = felix

e p 09-19-2004 04:39 PM

I had to do practically the same thing, Fox. Although I lied about my 25 hours or so of community service hours and forged them, so you know, it may not be the exact same thing.

I was actually considering converting if my parents let me ("Maybe you wanna be a Lutheran? We can switch you if you want), but I don't want to do all that stuff again. I've been doing this stuff for who knows how long and I want to get it over with.

But in all honesty, it'd be false. Blind faith makes me sick, and I hate the whole Catholic ideal of "thank God for everything good, blame yourself, your shortcomings, or a hypothetical evil being for everything bad." They go all "thank God for your musical abilities, intelligence, etc."...why would I thank someone else for something I worked hard for?

Don't mean to offend anyone, by the way. :p

Lay_Down_The_Groove 09-19-2004 04:41 PM

I don't attend a church or anything

and what does this mean? "l33t"

e p 09-19-2004 04:43 PM

Take you opinions elsewhere you ass.

Foxfire 09-19-2004 04:43 PM

Oh yeah. I'm not a huge church goer, but this year I have to go and give them at least 20 bucks (what they said, except less to the point).

No thanks ep. I'll rant where I please. :p

It's been a while (5-6 years?) since I was confirmed, and the whole process was rather a production. However, your mum will sniffle into her hankie, your dad will clap you on the back, and it'll save you a lot of trauma if you just do it and get it over with. Been there, done that. (though I think being a Lutheran might be more fun!)

Wintermute 09-19-2004 04:46 PM

l33t/1337 means 'elite'

Fun fact:
My mother, the main person pushing me, was not confirmed, nor is she Catholic. :p

My dad offered to take me to the Philippines( he's Filipino :p) and buy my Confirmation.

Tell the priest that you don't believe in god during the interview...

e p 09-19-2004 04:51 PM

Just messing with you LDTG.

Just because you are confirmed doesn't mean you have to believe in certain parts of Christianity, like me, I believe in bits and pieces.

The only main parts I really believe are the moral-related ones. There are some good stories that explain morals in the Bible (no matter how true they are :p).

I'm going to end up doing it anyways. Oh well. In doing so, I'll hopefully get a decent amount of money from my relatives in the Philippines (Filipinos are religious and love to give money to people. ), and that money can go towards my tricked out GT-7.
