I have a question, I was thinking to distinguish myself from the normal writeup threads I could sort of do something different. I want to make a series to called
"Poetry speaks" and in this thread I would discuss how poetry has been devolped in music, and present the different depths of poetic music. For starters I would want to do Opeth, I know I know they have a official thread but, If I made a poetic one just to showcase their writing quality it would be fine. I wouldn't try to promote discussion either. Can I?

No it's not really that I don't want it discussed it's just I was trying to kind of avoid making another dissucion thread. I know it's kind of hard to side step, maybe I should just choose another band :upset:

Well, you can still do an excellent write-up and still have it turn into a discussion thread. I personally don't see why you wouldn't want any discussion, but that's just me. I guess.

It's not really that I don't want discussion I just don't want the thread getting closed because of a mod thinking that we have a official thread for this, I regret saying "promoting discussion" it's just I was trying to side step making another official thread.

It's a really touchy subject there are a lot of good nu metal and bad nu metal bands. There is a lot of disputes in here. Since your new you will not get band, the only reason you get banned is for idiotic posting like flaming and just saying "oh they suck" that kind of stuff gets you banned/warned. There is a exsisting Nu-metal thread hold on I will get the link for you.

Also, perhaps a better idea would be to make a poetry in music general thread, then post your articles within the thread, and simply link them to your first post. This will probably keep discussion flowing a lot better.
