They did a hottest 100 of all time a few years back.
It was Smells Like Teen Spirit. And will likely be again.
Wasn't that a Triple M thing for top 100 rock songs of all time? And Eminem was #2 with for Without Me or some crap. They publicised it all really well with that rap vs rock thing. That was when Triple M were still a "rock station". Wozza the rock dog probably killed himself when the station lost its soul. Smells Like Teen Spirit isn't a bad song, great fun and they did it at just the right time. |
The old rock rap **** argument is stoopid. I'll agree gas on your Nirvana point.
|
I'm still at work. Just clocked up 12-hours and still going strong.
|
Oh yeah, I like hip hop as much as I like rock music. Just disappointing that Triple M lost its balls over the years. I never really listen to FM radio anyway though so I'm not fussed.
Radio is on its last legs I'd say. Nah it'll stick around. But only because it would take more effort to get rid of it than keep it. |
yeah i cannot remember the last time I ever listened to the radio on my own accord, the last time was the footy coll v melb last monday but b4 that idk or even idr
|
Only time I listen to the radio is if my dad is driving and we don't have a CD on, or if I'm driving and I've forgotten a CD, or it I just feel like hearing the talk radio. I've given a Sydney jazz station a bit of a crack some nights but their transmitter doesn't seem particularly robust.
|
Every heard Catfight On A Hotdog on FBI? Apparently we've been played a couple of times, lol.
|
Nah I don't listen to FBI.
Tiger Panic's been played a few times on this Sideways Through Sound radio show that does an hour of acoustic/folk/drone/etc. Pretty cool. Hopefully the next album gets some play too. |
Noice. Aight, I'm leaving work after 13-hours. Laters.
|
You must be such a rich prick.
 |
freakin workaholic more like it
i listen to triple j a fair bit lately, i used to hate it but slowly i began to enjoy most of the music on there. but i only really listen to it in the car, or the breakfast show which i stream at work because theyre pretty funny i think |
i just can't seem to give up my ipod for nothing. earphones pretty much glued in
|
haha yeah i was like that throughout high school i guess, when i was into metal and stuff like that. i remember one day my mp3 player ran out of batteries in the morning so i had to scab a mates discman all day so i had some music :( so lame
now i end up listening to music only really in the car or at work or home...at work though i listen to music all day but i take my hard drive to work |
i remember the discmen
i only ever encountered failures of devices :( |
Wasn't that a Triple M thing for top 100 rock songs of all time?
Nope. It was JJJ. They last did a hottest 100 of all time in 1998. And before then again in 1991. Both times, number 1 was Smells Like Teen Spirit. |

Top 100's of all time are pretty meaningless endeavours. Good way to get people involved though. My trusty discman got me through the two buses each way to high school every day. Poor thing wound up not working anymore one day because it was full of sand. I never took it to the beach. |
god they were unwieldy. 'anti skip' my ***.
until sony brought out g-protection then woooahaahhhhhh watch out, no skips for me! |
G-protection is no match for my antics.
Good Peep Show tonight. RIP Evan :( thread misses you bro |
yeah when will he be back
anti skip never worked on walking expeditions. batteries used to run out too quick, overall i preferred the old walkman |
haha someones extreme
i watched the first episode of peep show one day but couldnt really get into it. probs start watching again soon though. anyone else apart from meatplow heard the new N.A.S.A. album? so ridiculously good its not funny...i love Way Down |
You must be such a rich prick.
haha yeah i was like that throughout high school i guess, when i was into metal and stuff like that. i remember one day my mp3 player ran out of batteries in the morning so i had to scab a mates discman all day so i had some music :( so lame

Then as soon as i get in the car it is connected to my stereo and finally when i get home straight into the computer to charge or listen more. Much ipod <3 for me |
If you factored out all of your mortgages and etc you'd have a tonne of disposable cashola.
|
Yeah I guess. Hence me moving home to get rid of mortgage; get more moneys, haha.
|
munny
Yeah I guess. Hence me moving home to get rid of mortgage; get more moneys, haha.
why not invest in moar property aaron?? |
How does that get rid of your mortgage? Or you mean, not have to pay rent somewhere else so you can put rent towards mortgage instead?
I've gotta run off and chase up some money, later cats. |
