i think that metallica will release sumthin really bad *** before they ever sell out. they cant leave the music scene with st. anger as their last album

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 10-25-2004 06:34 PM

Ya those bangs at the beginning of One were deafining.(dont know how to spell it)

Po0sH 10-25-2004 06:36 PM
. Out of those songs the only one that has sweep-picking is Shortest Straw and it only has it once . But, I must agree the creativity of the solos on AJFA matches the technique and ability of the solos on RTL. So they're about the same.

/me could go on for ages
Dyers eve solo has sweeping the intro is sweeping

Kickflip_Burrito 10-25-2004 07:10 PM

What is sweep-picking/sweeping ?

Anyway, my favourite solos are Blackened, Dyer's Eve, Hit The Lights and Creeping Death. Then again, of all Metallica's solos are good.
On a side-note, I'm totally surprised that 'Tallica have been performing 'The God That Failed' recently. Love that song but wow, didn't think they'd play that.

Isaacsass89 10-26-2004 07:16 AM

my favorite solos are one and the ride the lightning solo is really cool too. so is hit the lights and most of the others on kill em all.

Paranoidd 10-26-2004 07:20 AM
Kirk Is GOD, the only other guitarists that come close was Randy Rhoades, Zakk Wylde maybe Eddie Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen considering most of those are dead (RIP) Kirk is Most Likely the Best Guitarist on the Planet Tbqh.........
They're all alive except for Rhoads.

And there are tons of better players. You even neglected to mention Satch, who TAUGHT Hammett.

Otherside 10-26-2004 08:08 AM

^^^ Yup, but I think Hammett owns Wylde anyways. And of course Satch is a better player, the man is brilliant.

BurtonBass313 10-26-2004 09:11 AM

i couldnt keep my eyes open for the "one" pyrotechnics
i think thier next album is gonna be crazy, but they cant start it the way st anger started or theyll screw it

Temporary poll:
Which Metallica song is better about War [heroes?]:
One or Disposable Heroes?

I'd say Disposable Hereoes, but only because I can't stand the music for One....

Kickflip_Burrito 10-27-2004 04:04 AM

One is better, but Disposable Heroes is better for rocking out.

Whats sweep-picking?

Blanka Flip 10-27-2004 02:09 PM

sweep picking is a continuous strum down the strings with the right hand, while your fret hand hits a different not with every string your picking.

Now for my post...I bought St. Anger when it first came out, and sence have lost the little tiny piece of paper needed for the metallica vault website...Is it possible to use someone elses cd key? and if it is, could i use somebodys? I hate to ask, and yeah, its kind of lame, but i was wandering...The vualt looks like its pretty **** cool, and we all know St. Anger isnt worth re-buying... Well. email me at blankaflip@yahoo.com if you wanna get with me..thanks guys, rock on.

metallica master 10-27-2004 08:22 PM
One is better, but Disposable Heroes is better for rocking out.

no doubt that one is better, but Disposable Heroes is right there with it. One is the kinda song that makes you think.....

Better Than You 10-27-2004 08:59 PM

what cd is Disposable Heroes on?

MoX_KIll 10-27-2004 09:05 PM

I think Disposable Heroes is better even though One is good the best part is aroundth e 4 min mark till end...but Disposable Heroes is good through out the hole thing

Stevie_P 10-27-2004 09:19 PM

I thought this died

Chu 10-27-2004 11:16 PM
what cd is Disposable Heroes on?
Master of Puppets, of course.

jaymz_is_god 10-28-2004 12:10 PM

One is an over-rated song, i love it, but i wouldn't consider it as one of Metallica's best. On the other hand, i think Disposable Heroes is under-rated. Great song, should be played live more often.
