if i were to make a shirt via stencil i would probably draw the image myself. i actually want to do it but i can never get around to it. any of you diy'ers have any solutions/things you do to help with motivation? i have a big problem with actually doing stuff, where i want to do lots of stuff but i end up never doing it.
|
i have the same problem. the best way is just get up and force your self to do it. once you get started it is hard to stop. I try to make deadlines for my self and that seems to help a lot.
you can always have a friend punch a certain number of times for everyday that you dont do the stencil. |
its kind of hard to say just get up and do it because thats kind what im having a problem with: making myself get up and do it
|
after posting it i realized thats the most shit advice i have ever given out. Yea i find that really one day ill cut 3 or four stencils and in the next days ater that ill use them all. after that though its like i stop for a few months. there really isnt a rhyme or reason to it. i say go for the friend punching you.i really have no other ideas.

I've started moving away from stencilling lately and been making tons of wallets.
I've done 5 different designs in a bunch of different colors. I must have 15 made total. I might start selling them for cheap, to cover my cost of tape and to justify the time I spend making them. If I could find my battery charger, I'd have pics of some, but it's nowhere to be found. :( |
I made my wallet. It's not really high-quality or anything. It's made of priority mail tape, which, last time I checked, was available for free through the postal service. I made it so it'd be just big enough to slide dollar bills in lengthwise. It is very slim, which I like. People knock it, but it's more efficient, for me, than a regular wallet.
|
I stopped using my Duct tape wallet because it was sticky, dirty, and looked stupid.
now my wallet say louis vuitton playa uh uh |
I'd like a clear wallet so everyone could see how much money i don't have :(
|
I'm too lazy to make myself a wallet (plus I don't really like duct tape wallets) so I'm going to buy some hippie wallet soon. The wallet I'm currently using I bought when I was 6 years old, and within the last year it has really fallen appart to the point where I keep losing money. :(

i keep all my money in an old plastic yogurt container

Does anyone know where I may be able to find a Warzone back patch? I checked all their label's sites, Googled around, and checked some popular merch sites like Interpunk. Probably doesn't exist, so how difficult would making a patch be? |
not difficult, just depends on how good you want it to be.
you could get a piece of cloth, make/find a stencil, get some acrylic paint/screen printing ink and you're set. there's instructions on http://stencilpunks.mattrunningnaked.com/ |
Thanks, I'll check it out. The design I'll probably put on it will be simple, but I'd like to make it as durable as possible. Would the ink or paint run with water/sweat?

nah

just make sure you heat up the ink/paint after it's dry via dryer or iron |

This looked easy enough, but after trying many many times today I'm finding out it's alot tougher than it seems. I tried microwaving in pyrex, baking in ceramic, and frying in a frying pan. The first 2 didn't work well at all, and frying it only resulted in a plate. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll go out and buy a wok and try using that. Or I read on a forum that it might be possible to place them in a circle on foil and heat it up on a bbq, then when they're melting, press them into a big bowl. Any suggestions? |
hAHAHA, thats awesome. i think i might try that as well. did it stick to the pans and s'hit or just didn't stick together proper?

In the microwave they started melting evenly all around (if I kept going it would have just been a plastic bowl) They stuck to the bowl in the oven, but once it cools it comes off very easily. And then I just made sure to grease the frying pan up to avoid sticking. Tell me how it goes, man. Edit: here's pics of my "plate". The only decent result I got from yesterday. Did this one in the frying pan. |
Ok, I made a few of attempts trying to make a back patch the way I wanted, and me, being incredibly unartistic, botched and mangled it every time.
I'm just going to give in and buy a patch for some other band. What sites have decent back patches, besides Angry, Young, and Poor? |
Alright, so I was a bit bored today (band members forgot we were supposed to get together, I had no other plans) and so I messed around with making bowls and other fun stuff out of vinyl records.
After getting bored with that I figured I could throw some army men into the mix and came up with a neat little clock (I had a little clock I bought the other day that I now have no use for). Here is the result: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/mx_sic/WallClock002.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/mx_sic/WallClock003.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/mx_sic/WallClock004.jpg A bit bubbly and such, not perfect by any means, but I think I like it more like that. Super easy to make, too. |
That clock is the shit, dude.
