You know what would be really great, is if people described the stuff they're into. Because just mentioning a band name doesn't make me want to check them out. But a persuasive paragraph will.
or just check out a review on allmusic for them

It's not the American way to take time in doing something, we're all about posting fast and getting it done.

I do, to corroborate your description. If you don't bother, I don't bother.

I agree. It could actually make posting here worthwhile.

I do that fairly frequently, unless it's a band I know everyone here is acquainted with.

Death Cab For Cutie - Transalanticism
Between the Buried and Me - Alaska
Herbie Hancock - Empyrean Isles

Well of course, there is no need to sell the Beatles.

For me, seemingly "interesting" band names would suffice.

I like Idaho because they have that great kind of suave/dangerous mood to them, sort of like the Afghan Whigs. They're tough to describe; just kind of laid-back but loud indie rock.

Mike Jones is a rapper and "Still Tippin'" is a great song.

The Promise Ring is a really catchy power-pop band from the whole second-wave emo thing.

The Great Decay 10-10-2005 08:00 PM

Jimmy Eat World - Clarity

I Was A Kaleidoscope 10-10-2005 10:42 PM

I've been listening to George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, a lot.

I've decided that it's by far my favourite Beatle's solo release, and I think I like it just as much as any of the Beatles' albums. It's really great.

Also, I was just listening to Mecca & the Soul Brother by Pete Rock & CL Smooth. One of my favourite hip-hop albums, it's so jazzy and smooth and whatnot.

br3ad_man 10-11-2005 02:34 AM
I'll be at that for sure.
It's at the Trobadour. Have you ever been there before? If so, what's it like?

I'm trying to dig Stfu Stevens for about the 14th time.

Bartender 10-11-2005 02:52 AM

No, but really, just out of curiousity, what about the album do you dislike?
I'm not sure. There just seems to be nothing about it that interests me.

But allmusic sucks noodles.

Liberi Fatali 10-11-2005 02:52 AM

I don't know why but I quite like that song, as you can no doubt tell. Even with its cheesy voice acting.

br3ad_man 10-11-2005 05:56 AM

Yeah I like it as well. Still, the best tracks on there are easy "Don't Save Us From The Flames" and "Teen Angst".

Bob1616 10-11-2005 06:45 AM

Eric Clapton
Jonny Lang
Oasis

Tomahawk 10-11-2005 07:29 AM

Right now I'm listening to Jesus of Cool by Nick Lowe. Good album. He was a producer (for guys like Elvis Costello, and the Damned), but he also did this great solo pop-rock type stuff. Touches on a lot of different types of pop music, there's bits of Motown, Beatles, doo-wop, etc. It's along the same lines as Elvis Costello, so if you like him then check it.

Great album title too, although it got changed in America. I think it was called "Pure Pop for Now People" there.

Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary

If you don't know about it. I feel sorry for you.

ATM 10-11-2005 08:31 AM

Sunny Day Real Estate are incredible. I just found out about them though a guy at work, and I am glad that I did.

All lies.

The NPC 10-11-2005 12:07 PM

Husker Du - Flip Your Wig

It's the first album that Grant Hart and Bob Mould produced for the group and you can definatly hear the ever growing pop side in them. Is it on par with New Day Rising, Metal Circus, or Zen Arcade? Sure. Is it as hard hitting as those albums? Probably not, but it's the album where Husker Du did exactly what they wanted to do and that is what makes this album the best representation of their musical tastes during their SST stint.
How It Feels To Be Something On > Diary
