I saw Jello speak a few weeks ago. He talked for about 4 and a half hours. However, he gave us a bathroom break.

Brain Toad 05-02-2006 04:34 PM

Was it interesting?

Sieg Howdy 05-13-2006 03:50 PM

Hey guys, I have a question.

on the back of the Frankenchrist cover, East Bay Ray is listed to also play 12 String Bellzouki. I'm wondering...What is a 12 String Bellzouki?...Did he really play that on the record?...If so, what songs can I hear it?

Brain Toad 05-13-2006 03:57 PM

It's made by the same people most of his guitar stuff was from, Danelectro. I don't know which songs its on because I don't know what it sounds like.

Ghostfire3 05-14-2006 12:37 AM

I learned Kill the Poor on guitar today. I love that song and it's pretty fun to play.

Brain Toad 05-14-2006 12:45 AM

I've found that every DK song I've learned to play is fun to play. I don't know if it's because I love the band, or the songs are just inherintly fun to play.

Moon over Marin is the funnest for me.

Angry Balled Fists! 05-14-2006 03:25 AM

Moon over Marin is one of their best songs, definetley.

vote me 05-14-2006 04:03 AM

I never liked "Moon Over Marin"
Moon over Marin is one of their best songs, definetley.
Dan has a good opinion for once.

If I was forced to pick a favorite song, it'd be that.

Angry Balled Fists! 05-14-2006 01:42 PM

:( For once ?

I wouldn't picl that, but it's definetly in the top 5.

I'd maybe pick I am the Owl, Forest Fire or California Uber Alles.

Danger Bird 05-14-2006 02:20 PM

i think We've Got a Bigger Problem Now is really good.

Angry Balled Fists! 05-14-2006 02:30 PM

Yeah, it is ^^

Also, Chemical Warfare is one of my favourite, my first DK song i heard.

Brain Toad 05-14-2006 02:34 PM

Live Chemical Warfare is amazing, blows the studio version out of the water. Same with the various live Moral Majority versions.

Angry Balled Fists! 05-14-2006 03:09 PM

Yeah, on the live chemical warfare version i've heard it's great, it's such an energetic song.

slow reply.

yes.

Danger Bird 05-15-2006 08:08 AM

I don't like the breakdown part in Chemical Warfare, the part where they're supposedly getting gassed.

I love playing Moon Over Marin too, especially the first part of the solo. I even made my band cover it, hah. I would show you our myspace but... it's a horrible cover. And I'm not lying.

Post it, I won't laugh. Too hard.

Henrik 05-17-2006 11:05 AM

Yeah post it... I'd like to hear it.

ViciousLove 05-17-2006 07:25 PM

Post it!

sketchyjoe 05-18-2006 03:56 AM

Moon Over Marin is my favourite DK song to play on bass.

Jersey's Best Dancer 05-19-2006 01:27 PM

Jello is coming to Philly to do some spoken word stuff. I will probably go, it'll probably be real interesting. I want to hear about what he thinks about the immagration policys.

Liebensaft 05-19-2006 01:58 PM

What's the date on that?

Jersey's Best Dancer 05-19-2006 10:27 PM

Manifesto Remaster or AT original release?

Either way its awesome on vinyl, though the original is better because the new takes kind of suck.

EDIT: That was extremely nerdy.

Danger Bird 05-19-2006 11:01 PM

I'm not sure, it's probably the remaster because I got it on Interpunk.

Brain Toad 05-19-2006 11:30 PM

Yeah, it is. Still a good vinyl though.

Yeah. I want to see him in DC and hear about that too. You shouldn't be surprised when it is the typical lefty spiel though.

Brain Toad 05-20-2006 12:55 AM

Jello's as left as they come. I love him, but sometimes his spoken word can get boring and a little too out there. Seeing him live would be interesting, just to see him comment on more current stuff.

Theramed 05-20-2006 03:31 AM

Nazi punks **** off came on in my local last night, it was weird i had no idea it was even on the jukebox

It wasn't bad. The instruments were good. Your singer is kind of odd.

Any details on this? I can't find anything on AT's website. Where is it, what time, etc.

Haha, thank you Nick. And that is Justin, who is most definitley odd.

Brain Toad 05-23-2006 04:56 PM

I just bought a CD copy of the only album by Jumbo Shrimp, which was the band of Ray and Klaus and some other people. It was 68 cents on eBay and ended up at $4.69 with tax and shipping. Hopefully it'll be here soon.

RudeBoyStompin 05-28-2006 11:26 AM

Got my tickets to see Jello speak yesterday. Can't wait.

Danger Bird 05-28-2006 11:30 AM

Where do you get tix?

RudeBoyStompin 05-29-2006 06:09 PM

Spaceboy records on South Street.
