I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I must have missed it. Anyone else excited about the Megadeth/DT headlined tour coming up?! I can't wait for them to come back here, got into them right after they came by last summer. :(

Totally. I'm going to get tickets for sure. What a damn good show that'll be. |
I'm excited that DT are touring, but I'm not excited that it's with Megadave. I definitly think they could have chosen someone better.
|
i thought it was dave mustaine that picked DT to tour with 'deth
|
i thought it was dave mustaine that picked DT to tour with 'deth
It was. I love having those two bands tour together. Nevermore should be great as well. |

Yeah I'm not going to miss this one! |

No and no. Dave chose them, as sack-man mentioned, and what better bands than Megadeth are touring this summer (cept maybe Maiden) |
i thought it was dave mustaine that picked DT to tour with 'deth
Either way. |
No and no. Dave chose them, as sack-man mentioned, and what better bands than Megadeth are touring this summer (cept maybe Maiden)
There are plenty of bands that are touring, Mars Volta for one, Maiden for another, and Opeth(most likely) for a third. I would take almost any band over Megadave, the way they are now. |
Mars Volta wouldn't mix with DT, Opeth would be cool. I prefer Deth though obviously. I take it you didn't see them their last time around the States... they still put on a sick live show, even if Dave's the only original.

A DT/Mars Volta, would be interesting I think. But wont Dave be supporting the new album this time around? I'd rather not see that. |
Even if he is supporting the new album, I still think it'll be a damn good show.
|

Uhh he supported it last time, I bet he'll mix it up a bit more this time. |
Though I like both, many 'Deth fans don't like DT. Mars Volta would make more sense.
|
i like both as well.
ATTN: ashman: what did you think of those songs? |
Does anyone know who DT will be touring with for the UK tour?
|
no, thats this summer though isn't it? i hope they do newcastle, or somewhere not too far away.
|
they said it would be october/november i think.
|
ah, i will have money for a ticket by then :)
|
i like both as well.
ATTN: ashman: what did you think of those songs?
Yeah they were good, but it sounds like they try too hard to be a classic band... |
hhm, the songs you got, are from the latest album. on that album they moved pretty far away from 'the 'classic '' sound.
try ad get your your hands on the Images & Words album. it's older material, but it's a classic |
i've got that as well, but i couldn't be bothered to upload any more tracks last night. I&W is, IMO, both worse and better than ToT, because its more of a classic sound but i also like the heavier sound of ToT
|
I agree with you.
as for my favorites: 1) I&W 2) ToT 3) 6doit can't be bothered to rate the others :p |
lol, i only have I&W and ToT, i like them both as much as each other.
|
as you can see, I recommend you the 6doit cd next :)
I got it for a nice price 9 euros, pretty cheap, considering it's a double cd. and I'm looking so forward to the new album. is anyone going to the LaBrie show? he's giving a show in my area in 1,5 week, and evergrey is supporting him. |
where do you live?
i might get 6 degrees of inner terbulence later, from amazon probably. is it a studio or live album? |

SDOIT is a studio album - and a great one at that
|
Ohh man going onto the new album forum on the DT site is getting me so excited bout the new album i cant wait!
|
has anyone ever dare to play a change of seasons(complete) with your band?
|
has anyone ever dare to play a change of seasons(complete) with your band?
No way I don't have a full band yet, just two guitarist, and a bass player, but we aren't nearly at that level yet. |

Octavarium's artwork. Its not fake. Here's the proof:
Of course, as always, I was hesitant to post this - but I decided I'd rather *us* unveil it than some underground website from Greece or Poland (like how Train Of Thought was unveiled) Let me just say you are only getting a taste of what the artwork and layout has in store for you. I worked very closely for several weeks with the great Hugh Syme and think the end result of the packaging is the best we've had for any of our albums in the past. I already see so many of you being critical, and that's to be expected, but you know the old cliched expression: "Don't judge a book by it's cover...." (although in this case, I personally dig it....) Can't wait for you to hear what's inside of it! MP
|
where do you live?

Wow nice cover...but what i want is to hear the new album :)
|
hope dream theater gets a little bit more progressive in their new album . . . don't get me wrong, train of thought was one hell of a progressive metal album, but it was more metal than it was progressive . . . just my 2 cents . . .
