I love how on tv they say, that they come from a small town thats boring and sucks. Yet I am also from their hometown Ajax, and its not that small or boring, they really shouldnt be saying it sucks.
They're all just a bunch of anti-Canada idiots. |
1. sum 41 is not pop punk
True. But they were. Half Hour Of Power and All Killer No Filler were pop-punk. Between 2001 (AKNF) and 2003 (DTLI), I can't tell you what they did, but they obviously changed their music. Does This Look Infected? was sort of a mix of rock and pop-punk kinds of music, and Chuck is all rock. They may not be pop-punk currently, but those times are what they are/were known for. I myself would have loved them staying punk-ish but it's their band and they can run it as they see fit. |
I e-mailed that jerkoff and I was really polite about it because I want him to actually listen to what I have to say...sorry to let you down
He's got such stupidity and audacity, there's probably nothing that will change him. |
They're all just a bunch of anti-Canada idiots.
you realize you're talking about the band right? |
1. sum 41 is not pop punk
yes they are come on really |
Right now I have Chuck on for the first time in so long, and I've found that it's a damn good record
And yes, Sum 41 are pop-punk |
you realize you're talking about the band right?
lol someone said ajax was dumb and boring or something? i figured i was just calling some randon people an idiot |
Have Sum 41 ever put a bass solo in any of their songs or improvised the bass, i've never really heard, or remember hearing anything too amazing from the bass.
|
cone's not a great bassist. you don't find many good bassists in pop-punk, or any subgenre of punk, really. i think there was one song on chuck that had a solo, though.
|
There are tons of good bassist in punk, and all the subgenres.
|
Right now I have Chuck on for the first time in so long, and I've found that it's a **** good record
And yes, Sum 41 are pop-punk
DUDE, how are you so cool?? |
lol someone said ajax was dumb and boring or something? i figured i was just calling some randon people an idiot
well, too bad, you insulted the band, that's something I can never forgive you for...jk... |
Have Sum 41 ever put a bass solo in any of their songs or improvised the bass, i've never really heard, or remember hearing anything too amazing from the bass.
Cone doesn't usually show off, but he has some cool parts on all the albums, but on Chuck there's a song called Welcome To Hell where he does a 4 second bass solo, but it's good even though it's short |
cone's not a great bassist. you don't find many good bassists in pop-punk, or any subgenre of punk, really. i think there was one song on chuck that had a solo, though.
cone is an awesome bassist, he just doesn't care enough to write hard parts |

I think Welcoem To Hell had a bit of a bass part... Some songs on HHOP had some bass, but it's didn't sound all that difficult. |
Yeah, it was called Daves crazy hair/What we're all about or something simaler. But the spider man one was longer then that.
no you guys got it all wrong.... the daves hair song is on the half hour of power album and the spider man one was just a song they made for the spider man movie |
DUDE, how are you so cool??
I was just born with it, I guess |
no you guys got it all wrong.... the daves hair song is on the half hour of power album and the spider man one was just a song they made for the spider man movie
no shit sherlock , like we didn't know that yet, the one for the spiderman movie was taken from the one off of HHOP, that's why he said that |
I was just born with it, I guess
:amaze: |
I went and saw Fantastic 4, it was pretty cool, but when The Human Torch discovers his powers they played Noots by this particular band and I started freaking out
|
I went and saw Fantastic 4, it was pretty cool, but when The Human Torch discovers his powers they played Noots by this particular band and I started freaking out
lol i havent heard noots... where might i find it in the DTLI booklet thing that comes with the cd, it has lyrics to two bonus songs that are on the dvd... i dont remember hearing them.... ? |
cone is an awesome bassist, he just doesn't care enough to write hard parts
Thats the worse excuse ever. |
How can you not care enopugh to write good music. Surely music is a very large part of his life.
|
I went and saw Fantastic 4, it was pretty cool, but when The Human Torch discovers his powers they played Noots by this particular band and I started freaking out
that's pretty awsome. sum 41 songs are used in alot of movie soundtracks. |
Yeah, the bonus tracks Subject to Change, Noots and Moron are pretty good. Subject to Change sounds similar to No Reason, in the way the chorus is sung (and Deryck uses that "so how long, has this gone, I don't see this ending" in Subject to Change as well). The guitar to Noots sounds really similar to the guitar in Still Waiting.
lol i havent heard noots... where might i find it
in the DTLI booklet thing that comes with the cd, it has lyrics to two bonus songs that are on the dvd... i dont remember hearing them.... ?
go to purevolume.com and search for Sum 41, there will be three, click on the one that says something in close relation to "Sum 41 (Real)" and it's the only song in there, or you can buy the Fantastic 4 soundtrack, or you can buy the 7" vinyl single of We're All To Blame and it's on side B, or you can download it, or you can have someone else download it and e-mail or IM it to you, hope that helps, it's an amazing tune, it's also on the UK version of Chuck WWVII Part I & II and Reign In Pain (Heavy Metal Jamboree) great songs, they're on the UK versions of DTLI and they're in the DVD under (if memory serves correct) Pain For Pleasure, but you have to have Cross You're T's And Gouge Your I's, it's not on Live At the Astoria In London..hope this all helps |
Thats the worse excuse ever.
sorry to upset you... |
How can you not care enopugh to write good music. Surely music is a very large part of his life.
I didn't say "good music", I said "hard parts", read next time and you might catch that, anyways, he's probably just lazy, besides, his parts are harder than alot of punk related bands, and it doesn't matter, majority of S41 fans don't care about bass anyways, I do, but that doesn't mean a whole lot |
Yeah, the bonus tracks Subject to Change, Noots and Moron are pretty good. okay, I'm going to clear this up once, Noots and STC are bonus Chuck tracks, but Moron was done as a side project for Rock Against Bush Vol. 1, it has absolutely no relation to Chuck whatsoever except for the band that recorded it, anyways, yeah, it kinda chaps my hide that STC and NR are so similar, but I don't really care too much, NR is a great song |
I got the Motivation EP today, it's awesome, it has Motivation (from AKNF) and it has All She's Got (live), Crazy Amanda Buckface (live), and What We're All About (live from HHOP, not Spiderman soundtrack) and it's really cool, I got it in this awesome tin can thing, not the cd case dealy from amazon
|
WWVII Part I & II and Reign In Pain (Heavy Metal Jamboree) great songs, they're on the UK versions of DTLI and they're in the DVD under (if memory serves correct) Pain For Pleasure, but you have to have Cross You're T's And Gouge Your I's, it's not on Live At the Astoria In London..hope this all helps
