Congratulations (true) emo kids on getting your own sub-forum. And also congrats to DFelon for finally getting a slice of that sweet Mod Pie.

cbmartinez 02-09-2005 08:22 PM

Wow 02-09-2005 10:58 PM

Last night.

LUDWIG PLAYA 02-09-2005 11:14 PM

I'm pretty into Boys Night Out right now, but I wouldn't really consider them screamo...

SactoUnited 02-10-2005 02:01 AM

Ska needs a forum!

DeadReflection 02-10-2005 07:53 AM

BNO is a very fine canadian band.

tornpictures 02-10-2005 08:16 AM

DFelon, did you dig all that stuff I sent you?

DeadReflection 02-10-2005 08:27 AM

Does anyone like These Arms Are Snakes?

nitzguy 02-10-2005 09:23 AM
Popcore is an invention of mine to describe a trend that has become very popular lately. It's a portmanteau of the two genres pop-punk and hardcore. Bands like Hawthorne Heights, Finch, and Underoath
Finch was around for while, before bands like HH, and Senses fail.

nirvanafan1 02-10-2005 10:07 AM

i like taking back sunday, funeral for a friend, story of the year and thrice are cool

Mojo2004 02-10-2005 11:30 AM
So? What does that have to do with the emo/screamo community?
avenged sevenfold are always good :thumb:

SkaBob 02-10-2005 03:46 PM

Would Cursive be emo?

bendurarmstolooklikewings 02-10-2005 03:51 PM

i'm going to see hawthorne heights tomorrow with the early november, hopesfall, and maxeen. I don't really like hawthorne heights, they're pretty generic. I'm pretty much going for hopesfall, and for the early november i guess. I also might go see welcome the plague year this summer. I heard they were great live, so i can't wait.

bendurarmstolooklikewings 02-10-2005 03:54 PM
Would Cursive be emo?
No, i think they are indie or something along those lines. They're great though. I think tim kasher was in an emo band a long time ago called slowdown virginia. By the way, did anyone get jerome's dream full discography? It came out a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking of ordering it.

cbmartinez 02-10-2005 04:48 PM

Cursive are more of an indie band.

cbmartinez 02-10-2005 05:37 PM

April 3, Montclair, NJ, The Bloomfield Avenue Cafe

Circle Takes The Square
The End
From A Second Story Window

I don't care if Montclair is a fucking hour and a half away, I'm going to this.

You lucky little bitch. Nothing like that comes to Texas :upset:

cbmartinez 02-10-2005 05:44 PM

Suck it.
Suck it.
Thanks :upset:

NewKindofArmy03 02-10-2005 05:47 PM

That show is coming to Philly with some other bands, i'll post the line up in a second.

dislocated214 02-10-2005 05:48 PM

By the way, Fugazi/Rites of Spring hate to be referred to as emo. Ian MacKaye has repeatedly said that emo is the stupidest thing he has ever heard of.

cbmartinez 02-10-2005 05:49 PM

They're touring with FBTMOF and Breather Resist, who I would have rather seen, but hey it's CTTS.

chips88 02-10-2005 06:54 PM
Ya because people tagged his band as it when he really wanted to be independent from any label. Way to not explain the rationale. You practically just say that Ian MacKaye is like any other n00b who say "emo is total gay lolz!!1!"
Another classic DFelon pwn

EvIL_ToASTER_OVEN 02-10-2005 07:15 PM

I just got Rites Of Spring's 17 song LP from HMV. It's g00bx100.
By the way, did anyone get jerome's dream full discography? It came out a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking of ordering it.
I have it. It's good, but make sure you listen to some stuff before you buy it. There's a fair chance you'll hate the screamer.

hey, you're not cory! 02-10-2005 07:56 PM
Would Cursive be emo?
Cursive's not emo...but they are amazing so keep listening

wtf. You have a good branch there then. I hope that pg99 cd's still on sale at Sam's downtown.. I've been meaning to check out an album of theirs for quite a while now.

cbmartinez 02-10-2005 08:33 PM

Yeah, I saw the split with majority rule once.

tornpictures 02-11-2005 02:01 AM
Duh! I like how subdued Boy's Life can be sometimes. You have heard Engine Down right?
Yeah, I dislike the newer stuff, thgouh.

Whoever complained about Texas.. **** you.

Die, Emperor! Die!
Toru Okada
Burned Out Bright.

Lots of good bands in Texas!!

Yeah, I was really surprised when I found it. City of Caterpillar and Hot Cross were there as well.

BuddyBigsby 02-11-2005 03:18 PM

Wow, Pg. 99 albums are really hard to find (except for the Majority Rule split... that one isn't that bad).

kodan armada 02-11-2005 04:25 PM

pearl.master.brx.punkster 02-11-2005 04:33 PM

Why are you posting this in an emo/screamo thread when none of those bands are emo/screamo?

DeathHawk 02-11-2005 06:21 PM
anyone like takaru?
Yeah, but really, I'd rather listen to Envy.

tornpictures 02-12-2005 03:54 AM
Wow, Pg. 99 albums are really hard to find (except for the Majority Rule split... that one isn't that bad).
That's because most of them are major OOP screamo.

City of Caterpillar split 7" is pretty easy to find, Wailfle split LP can be found at most record stores, document #8 was just recently repressed.
Go through distros and stuff.
