7 is the best, imo. It's my second favorite Boredoms material.

Warisalliknow91 09-18-2009 09:32 PM
because compared to bands that are actually brutal they sound like pansies
Can you reccomend me some slam then?

I already enjoy Devourment, Short Bus Pile up, Digested Flesh, Katelpsy, Goratory, Cephalotripsy, and Gortuary so anything along that line is appreciated to.
Thanks :0

Maladorous, Fleshless, Godless Truth and Gutteral Secrete

Tyler 09-21-2009 03:41 PM

could use some folk (or folk influenced) stuff that isn't bland and melancholic. don't mind if it's dark or 'apocalyptic' or whatever but if you're going to recommend some fag talking while he plays guitar then don't bother.

i'd prefer if there was more to it, like percussion or something, but it isnt a necessity. just need something with character y'dig?

kingsoby1 09-21-2009 03:42 PM

mount eerie?

Txus 09-21-2009 03:44 PM

Mount Eerie - Lost Wisdom
Steve Von Till - A Grave is a Grim Horse

Tyler 09-21-2009 03:45 PM

isn't lost wisdom some shitty hipster attempt at black metal? steve von till is a great example, i love that album. something like that or like Rome's "Querkraft" (or even their new album). going to look into Current 93 again even though I remember not liking Thunder Perfect Mind at all really.

Nepenthe 09-21-2009 03:49 PM

if you dont like thunder perfect mind might as well not bother since all other folk is still playing catch up to that album

Tyler 09-21-2009 03:51 PM

i also havent heard it in a while, i just remember it being some fag talking which is kind of not what i want at all. i need to check it out again but my point is i need something with some character, personality or energy (which doesn't mean it's gotta be fast or anything).

Nepenthe 09-21-2009 03:54 PM

oh yeah guess i could actually rec you some stuff. some of this may be a little more 'out there' than youre looking for buts its all great folk related stuff.

fire on fire - the orchard (essential ****)
any espers
eden express - que amors que (pretty strange)
leonard cohen and bonnie prince billy (probably already familiar with both but check them out if youre not)
and for something truly unique, look into master musicians of bukkake

Nepenthe 09-21-2009 03:58 PM

oh, sorry if this ends up being a double post, but you HAVE to check out silvester anfang and zak riles. cant believe i forgot those.

twelvegates 09-21-2009 03:59 PM

blackened death recs similar to Behemoth or Belphegor please

Tyler 09-21-2009 04:00 PM

you'd probably like Naglfar I guess

twelvegates 09-21-2009 04:01 PM

Is that how you spell it?

kingsoby1 09-21-2009 04:01 PM

Nepenthe 09-21-2009 04:04 PM

ok, final set of rec's just came to me tyler

kevin hufnagel - songs for the dissapeared. AMAZING
blood and time - at the foot of the garden
sun kil moon - ghosts of the great highway

Txus 09-21-2009 04:05 PM
isn't lost wisdom some poopty hipster attempt at black metal?
That's Wind's Poem. Lost Wisdom is completely different.

Also check out Woven Hand - Mosaic and 16 Horsepower - Sackcloth 'n' Ashes

That Blood and Time album is really good, so yeah, that too.

I've got Woven Hand on a list somewhere but yeah, that 16 Horsepower album is ridiculously good. Another indication of what I'm lookin' fo.

twelvegates 09-21-2009 04:25 PM

DBlitz 09-21-2009 04:33 PM

iron & wine? our endless numbered days is more "stripped down" but isn't melancholic or gloomy while shepherd's dog has lots of percussion. i'd get the woman king ep too.

Nepenthe 09-21-2009 04:35 PM

i suggest not getting iron and wine

Txus 09-21-2009 04:37 PM

I'd say

Angelcorpse - Exterminate
Order from Chaos - And I Saw Eternity
Morbosidad - Cojete a Dios por el Culo

And I don't like Iron and Wine for the Folk talk. They are boring.

DBlitz 09-21-2009 04:38 PM
i suggest not getting iron and wine
