I downloaded the free DangerDoom album from Adult Swim yesterday, and its alright.
???

Is this a new album, or is it just The Mouse and the Mask?

I really like Aqua Teen Hunger Force the show, but I don't like Aqua Teen Hunger Force the rap album.

Zebra 06-14-2006 11:52 AM

I've been listening to a lot of Quasimoto lately.

It's some of the strangest hip-hop that I've ever listened to.

deathscreamingsheep 06-14-2006 11:53 AM

I'm not really a fan of DangerDoom, I don't really like the sampling or backing beats in most cases.

anyone hear the latest Busta Rhymes - The Big Bang album yet? i've been listening to it, so far it's alright...still needs more listening on my part in order to say yay or nay tho

i just recently picked up The Team - World Premiere and let me tell you that shyt is on fire...bay area rap for those who don't know, the whole "hyphy" movement i guess you could say...can't get enough of it

PinkFreud 06-16-2006 11:12 AM

Ugh. I'm so sick of MF Doom.

I used to be a HUGE rap fan a few years ago. Just getting back into it now. Big Pun's my favorite. For such a huge person his flow and speed was incredible. His lyrics weren't necessarily deep but he was damn clever with his rhymes. Plus, he brought out the best in Fat Joe.

Also, Kanye West producing AND rapping is the worst thing to happen to music in 15 years.

Leprechauns1021 06-16-2006 07:28 PM

Anyone here checked out K'Naan? I think hes a really good rapper, and hes got a sound different from most people. "Struggling" and "If Rap Gets Jealous" are some of my favorite songs.

Well stop having terrible taste!
Also, Kanye West producing AND rapping is the worst thing to happen to music in 15 years.
I know you're exaggerating (or at least I hope you are), but I'm sure I could think of at least ten things to happen in the past 15 years worse than Kanye's weak rapping. In fact, I'd go so far to say Kanye's weak rapping is one of the best things to happen to music recently, personal tastes aside.

K'naan seems ok, but I've only listened to Dusty Foot Philosopher in passing. A couple really nice songs as far as I can tell.

Happymeal 06-18-2006 09:49 PM

whoa. Ghostface & Doom collab album sometime this year.

ATM 06-19-2006 06:04 PM

Yea, so I saw Lyrics Born and Atmosphere this weekend!

Atmosphere definantly know how to put on a good show.

LF96 06-20-2006 09:25 AM

Cool, I'll be seeing Atmosphere at the Rock Werchter festival in a few days, should be nice, although I think they're a bit overrated. Do they still use a live band?

purplefeet 06-20-2006 09:50 AM

I know this is primarily Rap/ Hip-Hop, but Im just trying to spread some love of Jungle. A lot of good beats, and theres a lot of good lyrical shizz.

Check out Freaky Flow and DJ Flipside. Dope shi.

Oh, and Dillinja. If you listen to the song "Twist Em' Out" I think you'll all see what Im aiming at here.

The first half was just Slug, Brother Ali, and the DJ but the second half had the live band.

some artists (hip hop/rap) venture into jungle, off the top of my head the one's i can think of are: tech n9ne, zion i and i'm sure others (mind went blank, only thought of those 2)

ATM 06-21-2006 12:00 AM

I actually heard some Freaky Flow on the way home from Bonnaroo. It was pretty cool, what would be a good album to get?

I would have to say The Envy. I think it is such a solid album. Freaky Flow' Onscene Underground Volume 1 is also another phat cd (2002, 2003 i believe)

He has some older albums from like 99, but I havent heard them yet. Keep it Live and World Domination. I think I'll grab those soon. But yah, The Envy..awesome disc.

Txus 06-22-2006 07:29 PM

The only rap I like is Dr. Dre, Atmosphere and Jurassic 5.

Kyle 06-23-2006 02:56 AM
The only rap I like is Dr. Dre, Atmosphere and Jurassic 5.
I suppose once you've heard every rap album in the world, like yourself, you can make that judgement.

If you like those 3, I'm sure there's plenty of other artists you'd like.
