|
trivium is awesome dude! :thumb: i luv trivium! u might've noticed that by my SN but yeah they're awesome i can't get their new cd tho cuz my parents dont like parental advisory crap but yea so i just downloaded it  so yea it's awesome i like light to the flies and pull harder on the strings of your martyr but yea in my opinion i think they're awesome:D :D
Lol yeah I know what you mean man! i used to have that issue but they don't seem to bother stopping me now. (the parental advisory thing) Any guesses for the supports for their UK tour in March? |
OK good I'll stick with this thread, but the other one was going OK.... these guys are incredible, anybody who doesn't like them just hasn't listened, anybody who says they are generic hasn't listened or has just heard "Like Light to Flies". Ascendancy IMO is considerably heavier than From Ember to Inferno, which, if anything, I would tag with the more generic metalcore label. They went to a far thrashier and heavier sound in Ascendancy, while simlutaneously adding even more melodic and catchy passages. If that makes sense
:p
Thats annoying. I have listened and I DON'T like. Fair enough they play fast, but so do a lot of bands now. I'd rather listen to something with a bit more subtlety to the songs. So I do. I've heard all of Ascendency, and none of it appeals to me, none of it really stands out as something spectacular. |

So what other bands do you like? Just curious. |
Neurosis, Isis, Cannibal Corpse, Tool, Cephalic Carnage, Slayer, early Metallica, Muse, Mastodon and Lamb Of God, Behold the Arctopus to name a few.
Thing is I know some of those are lacking subtlety but at the same time the way they sound is fantastically heavy ie Cannibal Corpse. As for Metallica and Slayer, they started this kind of thing off. I know that doesn't make them automatically better, but I much prefer listening to them than Trivium and the like. |

I think Slayer is a better band than Trivium of course. Metallica used to be, then they got ridiculously bad.... Cannibal Corpse is just too over the top, I can't see listening to a band that obsessed with gore, its just too weird |

I love Cannibal Corpses aggression in their playing, what the lyrics are about don't mean a thing to me. And you're bang on with the Slayer/Metallica thing to boot. Still not gonna agree about Trivium though. :p |

I tend to get really obsessed with bands for a couple months at a time Now its BTBAM as my avatar indicates  |
Fair enough. Yeah that quote was one of the first ones, I saw it and thought "nah". Sorry, I had to rise to the bait!
Ive not heard BTBAM, though I have heard good things of them. Maybe one day Ill get off my lazy *** and listen to some! |

If anyone noticed, ShadowsFallen was talking in the Sandwich Bar about the CoB, Amon Amarth and Trivium show.
He said that it would be amazing for Trivium fans. |
Im seeing trivium in March with bloodsimple and god forbid at cardiff. Anybody else going? to this looks amazing. Can't wait, 4 months yet though.
|
I'm almost definetly going on the 17th of march. Cardiff uni......how bigs that place?
|
I'm seeing them in DEC I can't wait for the circle pit.
I taught my gal to do that main part to The end of everything and she was like "OMG I can play guitar!" It was really cool |

Now its BTBAM as my avatar indicates
yeah i tend to do that sometimes too but ive been listening to btbam for about a year now and i cant get enough of them i think there the most original and awesome band to hit the metal scene trivium is still pretty good though |
God I do that all the time. It's like I'm so in love with some band then I realize
ah they are'nt that special. But I still love Trivium...I just try not to be too obsessed |
I'm not the kind of guy who changes his favorite bands from time to time.
|
yeah ill listen to a new band and be like these guys are awesome and listen to them a whole bunch and then not listen to em as much as i tend to get tired of listening to them but thats how i know a good band cause if their good i can listen to them non stop and not get sick of hearing the same songs over and over
|

Neither am I but I do tend to overrate bands |

Ah, gotcha. Anyone heard the Roadrunner United CD? Man, that King Diamond/Corey/Matt song ("In The Fire") is badass...Matt's solo was pretty off, but still good stuff... |
No I havn't heard anything about any of that. Is there somewhere
on line I can hear some clips? |
I'm not sure, I never look around for that stuff. I'm a lazy web surfer :p
|
i watched a vid for one of there songs on headbangers ball it wasnt very good but it was funny to me Matt without his guitar down to his ankles.
|
Are you talking about the video for "Gunshot"? God, that's an awful video.
|

|

it had a fat guy with an ibanez and a keyboardist and a female bassist. |
Yeah, the fat dude is the ex-guitarist of Fear Factory. Dino. The chick is Coal Chamber's ex-bass player. Yeah, that was one of the songs Matt was on for that Roadrunner compilation...it sucked  .
