everything about their first album is perfect except the ****ty sound quality.

I think Mesmerize may have topped their self-titled album for me. It brings back that exotic Greek/Arabian quality that Toxicity was kind of lacking (there was still some but not enough), and it proves that this band still has a lot of creative juice left.

I think Mezmerize is better than Toxicity. It has more color and it's getting kinda hard for me to listen to Toxicity now. I'm one of the few that liked STA.

STA is the album which introduced me to he band, for that reason I will always love it. I definately think it is better than the new album, thats not to say I dont enjoy the new album but I do really like STA.

Man Shavo is an AWESOME bassist! But so is Daron. He plays bass on 8 of the 11 new songs on Mezmerize. Not that Shavo cant play them but Daron just said Hey I wanna play some bass. So Shavo was ok with that. Oh and Shavo is playing all the songs at concerts though.

Dude, Shavo is not that good. Not sure why alot of people think he is. He is the weekpoint of the band.

I got into SOAD recently, holy hell. THey're really quite amazing, THe lyrics and the new types of music, listenin to Ariels, and its quite a strong song.

If you want a good metal bassist check out Alex Webster.

I pretty much would have to approve Mezmeriza over Self Titled myself. There isn't so much Serj for once, and the band actually try to experiment with catchier, more melodic like songs for once. And that's a good good thing.


Besides, Serj's gorilla-like vocals on Self Titled get kind of annoying after a couple songs.
