Did anyone catch the article with Trent in Metal Edge magazine?

Nope, I only get interviews online. I hardly ever get magazines :/

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-17-2005 09:36 PM

So you aren't a lesbian.

And why every 3 years do I hear about Tape Worm with Trent and Maynard NOT working out? It pisses me off; either say they're gonna work together or not say it at all.

Fvcking buzzkills.

Dried Muffin Remnants 05-17-2005 09:42 PM
But it would be 10 orgasms in a row if it did.
..And if it does happen, I assume you'll share that experience with us. ;)

Magicaltroll 05-17-2005 09:46 PM
^ tr00f. Every once in awhile I'll hear a rumor about Tapeworm/NIN chillin and talking about a cominbed tour. I've gotten used to hearing them and not believing them, because IT NEVER happens. And probably won't. But it would be 10 orgasms in a row if it did.

If I saw Maynard and Trent next to each other I would freaking scream until I died.
Don't play with my emotions liek that :upset:

Meh there is an artical in the latest spin magazine outlining what happened with tapeworm, it came out much more commercialised that what trent wanted it to and while maynard was all for it trent decided to scrap it. I doubt anything will ever come from the project.
He also says something about getting to the stage where he no longer wants to make music as NIN but simply as trent reznor because he feels that he has moved too far away from what NIN initially ment to him

misunderstood 05-18-2005 01:39 AM

In that article/interview MTV has posted online, he pretty much says it straight out that Tapeworm isn't going to happen...sad. I was really looking forward to this project.

I actually think that would be a good idea, NIN isn't really what it used to be imo. While he still makes amazing music, its not the original NIN, but then again, bands grow all the time. And they don't change their names, so who knows?

OK, I was jsut saying that NIN is a different band now pretty much, and I think people were kinda shocked when this one came out. I mean, it really was a different direction for him or "the band".

And I think that him changing his band name to Trent Reznor or whatever, really wouldn't be that bad of an idea. Because its a whole different NIN now.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense either.

I don't like the name changing idea. Leaving behind something so big as Nine Inch Nails because you make a different sounding album isn't really right IMO. Plus, the name Nine Inch Nails is really f*cking cool.

 123.

Magicaltroll 05-18-2005 09:12 PM

I know, but it would make sense.
I really really doubt he will EVER do that though.

Magicaltroll 05-18-2005 09:52 PM

I know I know...
But it would make sense right?

It wouldn't be good, but it makes sense to me.

repcak 05-19-2005 09:03 AM

i am again a name-change! why? only because this album is a little bit different?
no! for me it is still music from nine inch nails and trent reznor!
and i love with_teeth.... its great, its wonderful, its beautiful!

- Not really.

NIN has never been a "band". It's been one guys music. It's always been that way.

Every album that Trent has done has been worlds apart from the previous album. Look at the differences between Broken and Pretty Hate Machine. From synth pop to a Grammy for Best Metal Perfromance.

Any artist who doesn't grow is dammning themselves.

With_Teeth sounds like NIN to me.

*shrugs*

...But if he ever starts singing about puppies, i will personally kick his ***. :D

nrvn55 05-19-2005 01:58 PM

well i saw them last night and they were AMAZING. it was the most intense concert experiance of my life. it was cool because in between songs we all started to spontaneously sing "happy birthday" to trent. trent starts to smile and laugh(ok it was more of a few chuckles....but it was close!) and says "ha...thanks guys...that's enough...from now on though...no smiling." and then they exploded into "march of the pigs". the set list contained alot of the usual live songs with a few new ones some of which were:
reptile( i was so happy to hear this)
home
burn
even deeper
thtf
they ended with head like a hole. great concert. they opened with wish and they crowd was just insane.

Yeah, Reptile is a great song live.
From what I've heard of it that is. Does anyone know how long they will tour? And they are coming back to the U.S. after the other places right?

Kage 05-19-2005 06:12 PM

Yes, they'll be coming back to the US afterwards. I'm nervous though; in a few days, NIN will be here. I'm not very confident that I'll be able to get decent scalped tickets. I also have finals that week.

/Wouldn't even think about not blowing off finals to see NIN.

monkeymon 05-19-2005 06:13 PM

I really hope they do. It has been forever and a half since they ahve stopped by in washington.
Whats your guys' favorite NIN cd?

it is absolutely worth it. people at my show had gotten some bad scalped tickets. just give them a good look over. trust me it's worth it.

Used to be the Right disc of The Fragile, but now, it is The Downward Spiral.
At first I didn't like it, but now I see what it's all about, and I love it to death.

monkeymon 05-19-2005 06:19 PM

Yea i think my favorite is The Downward Spiral as well.
I listened to it so much at one point that whenever i think of something that happened in my life at that time im reminded of the cd, or vice versa

Yeah, I can definitely relate to it at some points in my life.
People think its pretty lame when I tell them that. :/

Kage 05-19-2005 06:46 PM

My favorite CD is the Fragile. It' just a huge epic CD, and it covers so much ground. TDS is a damn close second though.

BlindWriting 05-19-2005 07:12 PM

My favorite NIN album is definitely The Fragile, followed closely by The Downward Spiral. Followed by With Teeth.
