And I can't make it on my own.
(And I can't make it on my own.)
Because my heart is in Ohio.
So cut my wrists and black my eyes.
(Cut my wrists and black my eyes)
So I can fall asleep tonight, or die.
Because you kill me.
You know you do, you kill me well.
You like it too, and I can tell.
You never stop until my final breath is gone.

Spare me just three last words.
"I love you" is all she heard.
I'll wait for you, but I can't wait forever.
Yay. Best part in bold.

SubtleDagger 06-15-2005 11:23 AM

If you are serious, you need to stop listening to music now.

If you aren't, you need to totally shut up.

SubtleDagger 06-15-2005 11:26 AM
Neil Young and Bob Dylan's songwriting make me want to slit my wrists more than Hawthorne Heights.
Nevermind, I just read this and it voided every opinion you've ever had about anything.

Does anyone knows of anymore Dream Theater songs like their song Through Her Eyes where they actually sing and you can understand what their saying..?

Seriously, why the hell did you make a thread about this?

An DT totally blows.

Corupt2057 06-15-2005 03:03 PM

I don't like most of their songs either but I like that one, I'm just searching to see if they have any other decent songs like that one

SubtleDagger 06-15-2005 03:05 PM

So buy some records and listen to more songs.

Though I definitely don't think it's a good idea.

The Silent Man
The Spirit Carries on
Take Away my pain

You can't understand DT's lyrics? They're not that hard at all.
I'm not a major DT fan but eh, they're okay.

I didn't mean to say understand them as in meaning but understand them as in actually hearing the words for what they are because some of their songs it's hard to make alot what they saying/singing/screaming whatever

anyways ATC thanks for the suggestions

If you like that kind, pick up the Falling Into Infinity album . Its relatively mellower. Or Once in a Live Time.
Its the first one I picked up while trying to get into DT. Imports are a waste of time though. If you like to make out what they're singing about well in this genre, pick up stuff by either Nevermore or early Queensryche.

All I need to say: don't lie. You might not like them, but they don't blow.

No, their songwriting blows. Sorry.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 06-17-2005 09:25 PM

DT is generic rock that at its worst.

SubtleDagger 06-17-2005 09:27 PM

Right. At least Candlebox didn't make thirty minute songs with really predictable guitar solos.

Explain? Is complexity a bad thing?
DT is generic rock that at its worst.
Define generic

Their songs are not complex. They're really stupid and predictable chord progressions with a loser shredding a scale over them so people will think his wang is bigger than theirs. I can see every change in DT songs coming from a mile away.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 06-17-2005 09:37 PM

It's almost as easy as predicting that after every C chord in country songs comes a G.

i am the robots 06-17-2005 10:52 PM

Haha, fair point.

I'm gonna have to totally agree with that DT's long a$s songs are pretty bad but I like a few of their others.. but not many

thirdeyeblindislit 06-20-2005 06:44 PM

Hi all, once again I am back and ready to crit. How is everyone, and what new has happened? How many dumb a$$s have we had now? :thumb:

ATC 06-21-2005 08:54 AM

Since when does simplicity make any band suck?

Corupt2057 06-21-2005 10:09 AM
Since when does simplicity make any band suck?
it's not that their progressions are simple or anything like that.. they just don't sound good to me.. I like good vocals more than someone tearing into a guitar unless it's like some really moving stuff like the distant guitar in DT - Through Her Eyes now that sounds really good

Hey, this is a public service announcement.

Someone brought up a horrible poem from some werwqerqerqwtrwqtwtuty user that's just spam in itself, and I couldn't help but to accidentally rate it. I'll erase the post and what not, but please, close it or delete it or bury it.

Thanks.

this website is depressing

pixiesfanyo 06-30-2005 08:46 PM
It was the singers who wrote the lyrics, accordingly. Patton's were the most interesting; in my opinion they are the best lyrics I've ever seen out of him since his Faith No More Angel Dust days. Pixies and I dig those the most.
Truth.

I like Dimitri alot more than Greg, he's got more style.

Plus he doesn't look like Brad from the real world.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 06-30-2005 09:08 PM

You watch the Real World?

mshort813 06-30-2005 09:35 PM

ahah. the community thread. sup?

I'm seeing Trophy Scars next Friday and Kill Crush Destroy, Ensign, The Procedure the next week. happy.
You watch the Real World?
No, I watch the Real World, Road Rules challenges.

They own.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 06-30-2005 09:50 PM

Too much drama for me, I just like watching them race and climb things.
