Please, someone sticky the AIM thread that Pigs made. I think its a cool and great idea to spice up this forum. I've learned about new bands, and have gotten the chance to listen to more material than ever before.

Hey... for my English class at uni, we have to write an essay on any topic we want, as we get judged on writing ability alone. So I've decided to do a (brief) History of Metal. If I get a good mark for it... would I be able to post it here? I was thinking it could be like Medapolis' featured artists.

not complaining or bitching or whatever, but why was the "Drummer game" thread closed?

Cus, there have been a gazillion game threads and everyone is tired of them. Were gonna close game threads for a while. I guess we could update the rules but I don't want to do away with them forever..........

they're extremely repetitive, too. every 5 posts is the same old hendrix vs clapton or the who vs led zeppelin

(tho i repeat bands alot too...lol)

yeah I figured as much, just wondered why the other 2 ("Guitar" and "Metal" or whatever) stayed open and yeah.

anyways yeah.

Just close any game threads that take no brain power to take part in. Like that "Let's Play the Metal Game!"; all you have to do is pick one of two bands, then post a third band. Games that take a bit of thought should be fine, though.

a "Worst" thread

Just a question. The classic rock thread wants to do a classic/hard rock top 50 bands. We have a really good list (exclusing Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and all of the bands that all of the n00bs would vote for). If we make a 5 thread series would that be againsted the rules because it would be in a way a best or favorite type thing?

it would generate good conversation though. And we've never really had a classic/hard rock thing done.

It's alright with me, but let Superpeer and/or SFK comment.

If anything, maybe we should wait for the metal one to be over with.

If there's going to be the greatest metal band thing then top 50 classic/hard rock bands should be allowed. Same with that best albums thing.

But yeah, I'll just wait for superpeer to okay it.

He doesn't mean that it wouldn't be allowed because of the ultimate metal band polls, he just means maybe we should wait for the metal one to finish, so there aren't ridiculous numbers of polls and threads stickied.
