Yeah, I'm more physical science than biological science. I like math and difficult concepts, hence why I'm the MX Chem Nerd.

hehe. I am more the biological science person :thumb: I was wondering to do a study named Life Science and Technology. That would be: study every single bit of the human cell and how it reacts to different things. And building nanotechnologie in it, revealing the DNA more and more (what everything does, making a human cell invinsible, it now has a kind of selfdestruct program in it)

Oh. I could continue for hours :D

why not the second idea - you could sell it on ebay for a fair bit - ive already sold my DNA on ebay for £15

That's cool stuff, man.

See, you explain cells, I explain the chemistry BEHIND the cells.

I just prefer the difficulty of chemistry and the application of math. I find the subject fascinating overall.

Well, with a job (I'm not sure if you have one) you could work overtime/take other people's shifts sometimes to get extra money so that you'll be able to do both things without much screwing up of your plans.

That's also part of the program! But more how to do things with the cell, but in order to do that, you have to first know how it is build :thumb:

But I am not going to do that study :upset: I really like it! But I don't want to end in a lab! I want to teach, biology :thumb:

fatbandit 04-07-2005 02:14 PM

I find science boring. Sorry lads.

I find blowing bathtubs up fun though. :D
Well, we had to keep our distance, hehe. It was funny.
Yeah, it's similar when you burn a magnesium ribbon. It accepts diatomic oxygen very rapidly and the combustion that results is an extremely bright white light. It's blinding if you stare into it, so you have to look away and look out of the corner of your eye. :p

fatbandit 04-07-2005 02:16 PM

Uhm, we burn Magnesium in the lab and look at it! :O

But not in greater quantities. :thumb:

I have a job that I hate, and I already work overtime on weekends (since I can't on weekdays due to homework). I make $8.36/hour, which is really good pay.

After I receive my PhDs in chemistry and biochemistry, I hope to work as a chemical researcher and bochemical engineer, hopefully to find a cure for cancer (my life goal). After that, I plan on retiring and becoming a teacher for a few years (I'll be a fun teacher, I know it).

If you like to do that! I don't like lab-work, I need to be connected with people and things :) But teaching has always attracted me in all kinds of ways. So I'm going to study biology and then teach it.

Nice life goal
I also 'like' diseases, virusses etc.. to find a cure is always interesting

No, that I did not, but my birthday was the same day Star Trek's final episode aired in 1969 (I think?).

Yeah, that's cool. I hope to work with other lab techs. I'm a people person. :)

Thanks for the comments, by the way. I hope you find a cure for something, too (or accomplish your life goal).

You've just wished for my band to become famous
That's one what I would like to do..

I've already achieved some 'life goals' though!
Becoming a prof. sailing instructor
Becoming a prof. speed skating (ice) instructor

:chug:

I think lab work can be very people-connected though, you don't know everything ;) you have to work in a team to achieve the most things I suppose!

bottlerocket 04-07-2005 02:29 PM

^ Thank you! I'll keep that in mind.

Mods will do that :thumb:

It is actually a fun poll though =) So don't wonder why we didn't let you vote

 It's no one! :p

When Wintermute combined the old Casual threads (Casual 1, Casual 2, Casual 3, etc.), they all had different random polls. Therefore, al the polls were combined. The mods did the math to work it out so it.s 99.99% and a 0.01% for a very silly question on the poll (since the mods can manipulate the polls however they choose).
