Apologize for that. I know that it's against the rules but I just genuinely ENJOY arguing like that. Every so often I need to get it out of my system.

Plus, Jac's my dawg. I got his back, yo.
It's not you, I don't really think you should get banned. I know Jacaranda started it, but I don't think he should really get into too much trouble. There is like 5 pages of just spam, a lot of it is their opinions.

Yea, ban me instead of Freud. He's too valuable to the system.

PinkFreud 05-14-2006 12:09 AM

I'm an important cog in the machine, indeed.

We could probably just ignore it. I believe the storm has passed.

Nostalgia 05-14-2006 12:09 AM

Lunch I don't think you should be banned. You didn't really do anything bad. Since you're a highly respected user I don't think anything will happen.

If a highly respected member of society murders does that make it any less of a crime?

Edit: Sorry, I'm still in the arguing spirit....

Silenius 05-14-2006 12:12 AM

Pfft, I say ban no-one, just let the thread die everyone. (AKA NO MORE POSTS). ;)

I'm Charming 05-14-2006 12:14 AM
Yeah, where is he? I haven't seen him in like 6 months.
Fine with me. That guys a total idiot.

100% elitist and idiot.

Jacaranda 05-14-2006 12:15 AM

And I just don't care if I get banned I actually expect it the way the mods are moding these days but whatever. I'm off for the night so you guys don't need to worry.

If you ban someone it should be me only. Again just me thinking.

Crysiss 05-14-2006 12:15 AM

Crysiss 05-14-2006 12:19 AM

I dont think the mods like spam in this thread. It only screws the over when they have to look through pages of spam.

He probably checked to make sure the mods were offline because he's a super sweet hacker.

Nostalgia 05-14-2006 12:52 AM

@Mods: how will you now behave in front of users who have nazism/racism-avatars and 'costum user titles'?

Dude, they can't really do a lot. That's kind of just acting upon someone with a Christian-related avatar.

There's little action that can be taken. I know there's rules but I don't really see too high of action being taken.

You can't just take off an avator because you like it, the first amendment guarentees the right to free speech. Not free spech unless you're a nazi.

repcak 05-16-2006 04:32 PM

well, the law is a little bit different in the usa as in europe/austria. for nazism you will go to jail in austria!

MBS 05-16-2006 04:39 PM
well, the law is a little bit different in the usa as in europe/austria. for nazism you will go to jail in austria!
Musicianforums is a united states based website, therefore the laws of the US apply to the website.
@Mods: how will you now behave in front of users who have nazism/racism-avatars and 'costum user titles'?
The same way we'll act if someone has a Christian avatar. We'll wait until the user with a problem discusses matters with the user with the avatar, and if that doesn't resolve the issue, then we'll take further action.
You can't just take off an avator because you like it, the first amendment guarentees the right to free speech. Not free spech unless you're a nazi.
The first amendment is a US idiosyncracy.
well, the law is a little bit different in the usa as in europe/austria. for nazism you will go to jail in austria!
Yes, but as I said, you need to discuss it with the person who is using the avatar. Jail for supporting the Nazis is an Eastern European idiosyncracy.

Yes, and no. Technically, the internet is held only to international law, which is a system that is entirely unsuited to governing something like the internet. However, some people might argue that the US law does apply to internet businesses, like MX, which are based in the US. It's a real grey area. Considering how hard the US government is trying to screw the internet up, I'd be more inclined to take the international law side of the fence.

Advertising bands. A mod should inform them about the Audio forum.

munky_magik 05-16-2006 06:19 PM

You mean the one that you can't access unless you happen to know the url?

I read something that when the United States government was cracking down on torrent sites and stuff, sites that were based in other countries didn't have to worry about being shut down because they weren't based in the US. Something like that, I think.

Riva 05-16-2006 07:39 PM

Yes, but that's because the US government, like US people, is arrogant and thinks that it is above the law.

Hevy Tred 05-16-2006 08:07 PM

I really have to agree with that. No offense to anyone (hell I live on the US) but currently the US thinks they are world police or something...
