AB/CD 05-08-2005 04:55 PM

i think the picture from my avatar would have been a better picture to be made up form them albums

vashts80 05-08-2005 04:55 PM

One thing I was thinking about. Apparently, Nicko used a double-pedal on Face in the Sand, right? It doesn't sound like a double-pedal at all, and if it is, it's hella slow. The chorus of The Wickerman was much faster than that. :\

GurS 05-08-2005 05:34 PM

the problem wasn't speed - it's stamina. He couldn't keep that up for 4 minutes solid, don;t be silly - could you?

vashts80 05-08-2005 06:08 PM

I don't understand that either...he did it all the time with other songs like The Wickerman, albeit with intervals, but still..if I was going at it for 4 minutes solid, I probably could keep it up if I worked out my legs for a few weeks, but I'm no Nicko either.

GurS 05-08-2005 06:10 PM

you gotta remember... he's an old guy.

blue3 05-08-2005 06:55 PM
Which one? If it's Edward the Great than I agree.
Yeah, Edward the Great
you gotta remember... he's an old guy.
Yeah, he's 51 this year...

horseypie 05-09-2005 04:06 AM

i bought rock in rio yesterday and found it good....i even went so far as to call them "progressive"in a way....anyone else think this?

crag 05-09-2005 04:10 AM
Does anyone here own all or most of the enhanced CDs, I'm curious to know what image the spines of the cases make once you have all of them.
its the first album cover but just eddies head

amateurbassist 05-09-2005 05:39 AM

i tried that, but it turned out weird.....

someone elaborate as to what order the albums go in.....

Glass Onion 05-09-2005 05:43 AM

I think they go in chronological order make sence? So they'll start with Iron Maiden, then Killers, then Number Of The Beast etc untill whatever album they stopped at.

amateurbassist 05-09-2005 05:44 AM

no i tried that..... but it looks weird.....

the_uber_penguin 05-09-2005 05:46 AM
Yeah, he's 51 this year...
But he's Nicko...I swear he lost that leg in an accident and has some mechanical one there.

Glass Onion 05-09-2005 05:47 AM
no i tried that..... but it looks weird.....
Maybe they're on an un-even surface or the alignments just crappy from the sides?
i bought rock in rio yesterday and found it good....i even went so far as to call them "progressive"in a way....anyone else think this?
Meh it had a good setlist but the mastering on it sucked, Well atleast on my dvd. I prefare my copy of Rock AM Ring which a relative recorded onto DVD from german tv. Better list, full concert unlike Rock in Rio which had cut bits and it has a prolonged Bring Your Daughter (To The Slaughter) where Bruce has some sorta screaming compotition with the crowd.

ashman 05-09-2005 08:42 AM

I actually think that there was a misprint somewhere. I can't make it look right either.

Thunder Fingers 05-09-2005 08:51 AM

i make it look right, am i the only one? you have to include the live cds :p

ashman 05-09-2005 08:54 AM
ok, becouse Both Lad's and arl/do have pieces of the picture...
I never noticed that, I'll have to include them in my collection next time.

GurS 05-09-2005 12:12 PM

Ash - PRECISLEY! We should start applying to have his bones put in the natural history musuem - in the "evolution of leg speeds in drummers" display.

Deth 05-09-2005 02:32 PM

That would be most Metal.

Let's just hope that Nicko doesn't use his christianity against us..

Dannyboy15 05-09-2005 07:23 PM

Rock in Rio was amazing on my friends surround sound system and big screen.

Deth 05-09-2005 07:51 PM

I have a game for us all. I name 2 songs, then the next person picks the better one and pits it against one of his choice, ultimitily, we should have the best Maiden song ever at the end. So,

Where Eagles Dare vs. Be Quick Or Be Dead

Fight, Maiden songs, fight!

Hot Darn! 05-09-2005 08:22 PM

Where Eagles Dare vs Hallowed Be Thy Name

Hard choice?

My copy of powerslave is badly misprinted, so that may be your problem.
I've never tried this myself, I don't own all of teh enhanced cds to do it.

No, that's just pointless spamming. There were threads like that in the Pit all the time and they had to be closed because they were pointless. Let's not ruin this thread with spam of that sort.

GurS 05-10-2005 12:48 AM

indeed

(where eagles dare > hallowed be thy name)

Lord Abortion 05-10-2005 03:30 AM

apologies for the lack of posting over the last couple of days
was out of the house and off school so no t'internet

so to sum up...

lightning strikes twice is very cool... blaze sounds very scottish (listen to it)

hallowed be thy name beats where eagles dare but we shouldn't encourage spamming

nicko surely has some sort of mechanised leg (maybe he is really a robot?)

the enhanced CD's do have the first album cover on them... but you have to get them right (I can't remember the order but it aint chonological)

fave solo... prowler!

that should bring me up to date

amateurbassist 05-10-2005 04:57 AM

i actually think that WED is a great song...... but as for choosing it over HBTN.....

i don't know.... HBTN was the first MAIDEN song i ever heard so i have to say that......
