i play without it all the time....

at my house, i cant usually amplify because of my parents usually being around. so just go unplugged most of the time.

i like it personally.
-sixner
I mean, sometimes it is fine, but I just become bored playing like that after a while. I have two tops levels in my house, and then I have the daylight basement, so, overall, I have three floors. I sleep in the daylight basement, and then my mum and sisters sleep on the top floor, and no one sleeps on the middle floor, so no one can hear me unless I turn up ridiculously loud, but lower frequencies travel farther than higher frequencies, so that can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

I play unplugged when I am at the computer, though, because it is on the middle floor, and I don't feel like lugging my stack up here, but I also don't really feel like carrying my practise amp up here either.
Yeah, playing bass without any sort of amplification just isn't worth it, and it kind of just ruins the whole point in playing. I mean, I sometimes play without amplification, but it just isn't as fun.
Exactly.

It can't be heard well, and what you can hear doesn't sound or feel right. At least that's why I don't like playing unplugged.
BTBAM, nice. i didint know he used to play for them. hm...

-sixner
I love me some BTBAM all day everyday.

I just saw them on their current tour, which is the Radio Rebellion tour. They did amazing as always. :p
Exactly.

You can hear yourself clearly if it is the dead of night, and if there isn't any hustling and bustling about your house.

I suppose you could go into an anechoic chamber if you have one nearby as well. :p

-sixner
I used to not be bothered by it, but then I realised that I would actually like to hear myself when other things are going on around my house. :p

I practise without any amplification, though, when I am just sitting there watching the telly when I don't have anything else to do, and I don't want to disturb anyone else that is watching it either.
thats sweet.

One time I hung out with CKY for about an hour. That was pretty fun.
The band i assume?
Yeah. It was after I saw them live the first time.

The Brad 11-11-2006 07:30 PM

My house is a wordless vacuum of human emotion.

PietroCrespi 11-11-2006 08:19 PM

:upset:

Someone rated my tab a 2, and I KNOW it is exactly right. I got a feeling it was the other person who submitted theirs, but left a solo out.

BenJammin 11-11-2006 08:47 PM

Ungh. All of this school work has left me depressed as all fuck.

The Brad 11-11-2006 08:49 PM

Here in Brad's lonesome bedroom it's wacky portrait hour:

Who's next?

Pluperfect_Arson 11-11-2006 08:49 PM

You and me both, buddy.

I am just depressed because of the fact that I live out in the middle of nowhere, so I don't have much to do between school, my current job when I start work, and studying music.

I need social interaction with friends!

Brad: I laughed at that painting.

The Brad 11-11-2006 08:51 PM

Does that mean you want a portrait Nik?

BenJammin 11-11-2006 08:52 PM

Yeah. I'm depressed because I have so much work to do, and starting Friday, I'm working almost 60 hours over 9 days.

Pluperfect_Arson 11-11-2006 08:52 PM

EDIT: TO BRAD:

I don't know. O_O

BenJammin 11-11-2006 08:53 PM
Does that mean you want a portrait Nik?
Ooh, ooh. I do!

Do me! Do me!

Pluperfect_Arson 11-11-2006 08:53 PM

Ben, that is a shitload of hours. I only work two days this week, and one of those days is a call in.

The Brad 11-11-2006 08:54 PM

Do you want it just as loose or more restrained?

Pluperfect_Arson 11-11-2006 08:55 PM

Here's a bit of an old picture, Brad, if you want to do one of me:

Yeah. Get this:

Friday: 5-9
Saturday: 12-11
Sunday: 9-3 (maybe later, it's a setup day for the sale)
Monday: 3-10
Tuesday: 4:30-10
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: 4:30-10
Friday: 3-10
Saturday: 12-10

And then probably something like 11-5 on the Sunday after.

BenJammin 11-11-2006 08:55 PM
Do you want it just as loose or more restrained?
I don't know what you mean by that.

Just go wild. :)

If it looks cool (which it probably will), I'll put it up on myspace and sing your name in praise.

Pluperfect_Arson 11-11-2006 08:56 PM

Yeah, I would probably end up spontaneously combusting if I had to do all of that.

My hours are always 21.00-02.00, so that never changes. I only have to work Wednesday and Friday, though. Meh.

Go into retail. They give you some crummy schedules.

I am in retail.

It's because we have this sale called Member Appreciation Week (which becomes the ominous acronym MAW), where we close down on Sunday and extend our Monday and Saturday hours (normally we close at 6 on those days) and offer ridiculous sales on everything in the whole store (it's a grocery/department store, and consists of, like, 12 departments).

It's seriously the busiest sale of the year. We clear over $10mil in 6 days.

Wow, where do you work? It is probably pretty big and nationally known then?

I like saying "MAW."

MAAAAAAAAW.

DaveSavesTheDay 11-11-2006 09:05 PM

Ben, don't work so much. You're going to kill yourself.
