****

Earlier today my computer exploded. Well, when I say exploded I mean it made a popping sound and some smoke started coming up off it.

I can't even turn it on now. using my brother's now

Boilermaker 07-14-2007 04:30 PM

ouch, that sucks.

AlienEater 07-14-2007 04:51 PM

especially as i can't remember what half the stuff that was on there was

i'll never be able to get it back

Anxious 07-15-2007 12:18 AM

Why not? If the hard drive didn't physically get damaged its perfectly fine. The power supply probably just went out. I say this because you didn't specify what exploded.

That happened to an old monitor I had.

In retrospect, it was really cool.

Liebensaft 07-15-2007 01:56 AM

I've never seen electronics spontaneously explode. I sure would love to.

br3ad_man 07-15-2007 04:55 AM

I think that happened to me once as well with my PSU. One time I also put a small plastic bottle of whiskey in the microwave and when I opened the microwave there was fire everywhere. That was probably the dumbest thing I've ever done but it was pretty cool. :o

I have so many good shows coming up. Between now and the end of August;

Envy
Tilly and the Wall
The Cure
The Mint Chicks
Ryan Adams
Mono/World's End Girlfriend

I now think the hard drive is fine, I was overreacting. I need to get a few bits replaced but it's ok

Anxious 07-15-2007 09:07 AM

So it looks like tickets aren't sold out for SY on Friday. I might end up going. And Robedoor are opening!

Boilermaker 07-15-2007 09:36 AM

Dude, ****ing go to that. I really hope they announce a show in Boston (a DN one preferably.)

Anxious 07-15-2007 09:39 AM

I just have to make sure I pass my drivers test tomorrow and I have someone in mnid to go with. They're probably crap seats but whatever.

ATM 07-15-2007 10:06 AM

Does anyone know that site that will allow you to seach among a ton of blogs?

Anxious 07-15-2007 10:09 AM

I use those a lot.

Boilermaker 07-15-2007 10:11 AM

Shareminer's my fav.

ATM 07-15-2007 10:17 AM

Thanks man.

Anxious 07-15-2007 12:11 PM

I just remembered how much better real cd's sound than mp3's while listening to the new Meat Puppets.

Eliminator 07-15-2007 12:33 PM

listening to cds in a car at high volumes > everything

perriwinkle 07-15-2007 03:48 PM

The amount of relatively unknown music found in blogs is overwhelming and it makes me wonder if people even have time to listen to most, much less all of what everyone else posts.

sexymuffin 07-15-2007 06:02 PM

i don't understand people that listen to lots and lots of musicians all the time

like the people who have ten new awesome artists they're digging every week, i just can't do that.

i have to take time to get into each artist and really listen to their music idk maybe it's a weakness of mine

ATM 07-15-2007 06:05 PM

I'll admit, I'm kind of all over the place with what I listen to because I constantly check out new music.

Happymeal 07-15-2007 06:30 PM

I used to be the type who genre-hops all the time and d/ls albums by any artist who gets praised in the forums or RYM. Then I realized I don't listen to them enough to decide if I actually like them or not.

Eliminator 07-15-2007 06:32 PM

i check out different music a lot but i still have a core set of groups/artists that i always go back and listen to

pulseczar 07-15-2007 06:47 PM

i barely listen to any new music now with the little computer access i have right now :-|

Glitterati 07-15-2007 06:53 PM

I only listen to Kool & The Gang.

sexymuffin 07-15-2007 06:58 PM

for me i'll just get really into a few artists at a time for a few weeks to sometimes a couple months and then i go to new ones that i fall in love with

right now it's idaho and midlake's van occupanther

a little while ago it was colour revolt, maps and atlases and chad vangaalen

i've found focusing on certain bands and musicians really helps me grow as a musician because i'm able to pinpoint what makes me like their music so much and apply that to my own

Tangy zizzle 07-15-2007 07:47 PM

Ok, so I was told by some creton to check out Pissed Jeans and so I have. Know what? They're utter crap. Some of the worst music I've heard all year.
