Listen I like metalcore, some of it, but fact is alot of it sounds pretty much alike eachother, ATR have done some decent songs, but they're boring because they don't exactly have anything that sets them apart from the rest of the metalcore scene.

All That Remains set themselves apart for me for several reasons. First, Phil shows far better lyrical talent and depth than any other band in the scene. Second, he has a killer vocal range. Listen closely to the songs on The Fall of Ideals, the underlying growls are poorly mixed but are there and very low.

Also, They are extremely talented musicians. Oli and Matt are extremely talented guitarists, and it shows.

Simply because they have the typical song structures doesn't mean anything.

But I still find them boring. But I do agree with most of what you said.

I haven't listened that much to ALOL, liked what I've heard of them so far though (Vulture)

Their old stuff is loads better, but on the re-release of [I]Open Your Mouth For The Speechless, In Case Of Those Appointed To Die/The Fourth Plague: Flies[/I] it says A LIFE ONCE LOST REFUSES TO PLAY THESE SONGS LIVE. :sad:
