Dismember's God That Never Was is melodic death too, I dont care what anyone says.
Melodic death maybe, but not melo-death.

masscows 12-10-2007 09:20 AM
Like an Everflowing Stream was exceptional.

Anyone listen to Immolation? I have Harnessing Ruin, it's pretty good.
Harnessing Ruin is their worst album I think.

But yeah, Immolation is one of my favorite bands. Unholy Cult and Close to a World Below are death metal perfection.
Arghoslent and Intestine Baalism win. Dismember's God That Never Was is melodic death too, I dont care what anyone says.
I need to hear both bands.
and i was finishing up TGTNW last night and i definitely thought the exact same thing, its definitely melodic death (obviously not like In Flames melo-death). the vocal style is the same as its always been pretty much but the music is definitely getting more melodic.

and i was wondering has anyone heard Indecent and Obscene? It gets kind of overshadowed by LAEFS but I'm hoping its one of those albums that everyone overlooks but turns out to be awesome. and Itunes samples are rarely helpful :(

pate 12-10-2007 12:23 PM

It's pretty good. But I don't dislike any Dismember albums.

rattlehead42147 12-10-2007 12:25 PM

ah. I have a chance to get Death Metal too, my friend has it. I'm actually pretty hooked on TGTNW thanks to all the discussion its been getting.

Invicta_Veritas 12-10-2007 01:51 PM

I don't care for dismember. I used to like Immolation, but they bored me quickly.

And sworn enemy is crap.

publicastration 12-10-2007 01:54 PM

You don't like Immolation or Dismember?

He said he's leaving the forums in the BM thread so lets hope it's true

:chug::chug::chug::chug:

Anyway, is there any good Dismember aside from TGTNW and LAEFS? I haven't checked into anything else.

Tyler 12-10-2007 01:57 PM

Massive Killing Capacity is really good. It's slower and a little different buy you'll love it.

AA-12 12-10-2007 01:59 PM

I think that's one I had a long time ago. I'll get it again soon.

Shattered_Future 12-10-2007 02:28 PM

Nobody can trigger drums like Nile can.

masscows 12-10-2007 02:54 PM

I hate to be defending Nile, but Kolias only triggers his drums to get better sound...he can actually play that fast legitimately.

I saw them diiiiiieeeeee!

I absolutely love that album.

Hrimthursum 12-10-2007 03:03 PM

Older Nile is enjoyable, and Sworn Enemy is atrocious live, in my opinion. I also don't care too much for them on record.

Speaking of, Nile can be sloppy live, but it is still an enjoyable show.

publicastration 12-10-2007 03:18 PM

^When I saw them they were extremely tight.

Hrimthursum 12-10-2007 03:20 PM

They have had better shows; I'm certain of this. I'm quite sure they don't have sloppy shows as a way of habit. They simply weren't the best each time I've seen them.

melo-death = melodic death abbreviated.

isn't that a jfac lyric?

Dimmu Burger 12-10-2007 03:57 PM

I thought that sounded familiar.

Well two things need to be asked.

Do we all know mappy is a corefag?

Yes

Do we all know mappy loves JFAC?

Yes

Yes+Yes = Yes

So... yes.

Dimmu Burger 12-10-2007 04:05 PM

I consider myself enlightened.

Dimmu Burger 12-10-2007 04:38 PM

Melo-Death may be confused with Mellow Death, which doesn't exist.

NemesisDivina 12-10-2007 05:21 PM

I can definitely see the argument for The God That Never Was being melodic death, but it's a hell of a lot better than any of that bullshit sissy pseudo-death garbage that's being put out under the 'Melodic Death' tag.

Example of bullpoop sissy pseudo-death garbage?

soilwork

Tyler wins itt.
soilwork
Yeah they are quite far off from MDM these days, its like Alternative Metal, like Sevendust!

Tyler 12-10-2007 05:38 PM

well it's not really a remake, that's a bonus track on the album. but yeah it rules. i love the broken english

THIS IS HOW YOUR GOD IS LIKE

Tyler 12-10-2007 06:16 PM

I used to when it was just "The Pit". Then it became a wild and crazy place.

Dargon 12-10-2007 06:19 PM

I don't think Soilwork even qualifies as bullshit sissy pseudo-death. I actually tried to listen to a song once, sounded like a Nickelback cover to me.

you must spread rep before giving it to COA again. that song has one of the best main riffs ever.

**** all of you I like Soilwork.

Dimmu Burger 12-10-2007 06:41 PM
**** all of you I like Soilwork.
I like them as well, but they are pretty far off from anything resembling death metal these days.
