It's actually really good dude. Read above for the DISV3 link and go get it. It's not very metalcore at all. It's just good metal.

it does have a steady diet of breakdowns and metalcore vocals. Hence why I said "metalcore-esque". I have not heard a good metalcore band in quite sometime.

I didn't really notice the breakdowns, and the vocals aren't super generic or super unique.

Yeah definitely the vocals aren't bad, but they are the weak point tbh. I usually never notice breakdowns on first listen, but I did this time. Maybe I'll listen to it again later, my intial thoughts last night were "**** is so cash"

That's pretty arguable I'd say. The Silent Circus and Alaska were both pretty good. Selkies, Autodidact, and the Primer on one disc is nice. (Alaska)

their self titled is better than alaska by leaps and bounds

colors is absolutely horrible

I guess the drastic genre transitions within some of the tracks turned you off.

But there is still some ridiculously good musicianship on Colors.

the drastic (see: forced to seem more varied) genre transitions are one of the many annoying features, another is the fact that they pay more attention to writing "musically complex" **** as apposed to writing actual songs.

like, that album was written solely to appeal to fags on last fm who listen to "any music as long as it's technical!!1"
