FatalEnergy 07-31-2009 02:28 PM

yes

rasputin 07-31-2009 08:28 PM

yes

although i'm sure a few people on the forums would disagree

FatalEnergy 07-31-2009 08:31 PM

Everyone around here complains so much about doom that isn't trad.

rasputin 07-31-2009 08:36 PM

pretty much

i remember when i first started posting and i tried bringing up funeral doom in this thread, i would just get shut down. i am still traumatized to this day.

knuckleduster 07-31-2009 09:16 PM

thats ****ed up man. thats really the only doom i listen to

Catfish BROnes 07-31-2009 09:17 PM

Doom is elite in all forms. <_<

rasputin 07-31-2009 09:18 PM

pretty much

except gothic doom

Catfish BROnes 07-31-2009 09:19 PM

I don't consider it a form of doom because it makes my penis retract.

Doom (in any form) does not have this effect on manly men such as myself.

The_Mop 07-31-2009 09:32 PM

Not sure whether you guys class this as doom, but my bro's been into stuff like Cult of Luna and Neurosis for a few years, I recently got into them both. It seems to be a bit of a trend amongst the metalheads that I know that they all listen to post hardcore and doom metal now...

Saw Neurosis in Berlin, was a great coincidence as we were going on holiday to Berlin when the gig was on \m/ Was an awesome gig, they were supported by this band called Celan who had apparently just formed, they absolutely kicked arse.

Catfish BROnes 07-31-2009 09:33 PM

Sludge

rasputin 07-31-2009 09:34 PM

neurosis is just awesome, cult of luna are more post metal than doom.

The_Mop 07-31-2009 09:36 PM

Yer man, one of the most amazing moments from any live gig I've been to was hearing them play A Season in the Sky. Really chilling...

FatalEnergy 07-31-2009 09:59 PM

[QUOTE=rasputin;17404546]pretty much

Exactly.

Post-Metal thread

The_Mop 08-01-2009 04:37 PM

Hmm, post-metal isn't a term I've come across - what makes neurosis and that lot post metal? Not that I'm doubting what you guys are saying, I've just not heard that before, and some people I know are under the impression Neurosis practically invented doom metal o.O

Those people need to die with Pentagram playing on the background.

FatalEnergy 08-01-2009 05:45 PM

lol, Neurosis invented it.

loolololololo

That's one of the worst things I've ever heard.

Txus 08-01-2009 05:47 PM

Yeah, pretty stupid thing to say.

freeliminator 08-01-2009 05:47 PM

FatalEnergy 08-01-2009 05:49 PM

freeliminator 08-01-2009 05:53 PM

FatalEnergy 08-01-2009 06:20 PM

ATTN: ArrestThisMan

Did you make it to Born a Day Early or Born Too Late?

Phototropic 08-02-2009 05:17 AM

neurosis might not have invented it, but they've done it the best, taken it, broken it down, crammed it back together again and they are still finding new ways to push the limits

Probably the most talented group of guys ever

locust star

intense

Txus 08-02-2009 09:25 AM

they are not doom

wtf

Much better stuff out there in the genre.

Txus 08-02-2009 09:47 PM

The new album is great.

I've been listening to a lot of Dolorian lately, any of you guys like them? I know Peter does.
