Well there you go man, Blackwater Park is 12 min, The Moor is 11, and the Drapery Falls is almost 11. A 3 min song (part of me) isn't ganna level up to something like that... Plus the Opeth thread seems to have a lot more guys ready to record the different guitars, theres more then enough vocalists etc.

As i said, when i do sober it will be double tracked. But it aenima wouldn't be double tracked, i would just record it in about 8 sections, but i think the fluency would be wrecked, and it shows im more of a man if i have the stamina to last all 6:44

Sober will turn out great I think, and Stinkfist maybe. Part of Me will probably end up not so good.

Im thinking that if length is an issue, we do a Tool medley. Most of the songs were doing can be linked in seamlessly with a little improv (Jerk Off -> Part Of Me --> Ænema --> Stinkfist woudl all flow well).

That way you get some monster 20 min+ Tool sesion to compete with their longer tracks

Im so annoyed I cant put guitar parts up still. I've been slaughtering Stinkfist recently, and its the 2nd most fun song to play ever

Have you ever tried singing a tool song? Maynards range is incredible...the part in push!t 'If you say i might fade like a sigh if i stay, you minimise my movements anyway' Is so high compared with other parts of the song...It's very difficult to find someone to do that...

I'd gladly change and do push!t or third eye, but I'd rather get aenima/part of me/sober sounding good than getting a shaky version of push!t or third eye.

Edit: Even if you did get a great sounding part of me, Opeth will still own you. Didn't Ken say that he'd get his singer (Seth I think his name was) to sing for your guys' covers? If Ken ever shows up be sure to ask him. That guys was incredible.

Yeah, I started off playing to Tool's version, then I just kind of did it on my own. :-/ Shoulda played along. :p

I've heard lots of crit about the flange tone, so I'll definitely fine tune that.

I personally think I need to fix the solo up a bit.

Ben-Yeah, I know I didn't do the opening chord (I think it's a bended B3 or something) Because I don't like how it sounds when I do it. I can't bend both strings correctly. Maybe I'll just playing the root note and call it good.

And Rob- About what I said about your Ænema track a while ago; What I said and what I meant were 2 different things. I said 'ouch' but what I really meant was back off on the gain. [size=1]They're easily confusable[/size] It was a good recording. The tone was a more fit for Triad, I think. Meh

The only monster Tool track that I can play is Ticks&Leeches. Actually, I can only play Ticks& proficiently enough to record. I struggle with the 3rd part a bit.

I think Aenima would be a good choice. I agree that Push!t would sound like ****.

I think you guys should do Parabola. The vocals are awesome, but theres no incredible range there. Plus it would be like 10 min long if you guys did Parabol to.

Its a bend on the 12 fret G string, palyed alongside the 10th fret on the B string. Pre bend, tremelo pick it and slowly release the bend, that'll give you the effect.

I was also going to suggest that a while ago but the Parabol is hard to do correctly.

What gauge strings? Use like .15s or something, those'll change his mind.

I've always wondered why I couldn't play Parabola correctly. It's in drop B. :lol:@me

The tab I have of Sober shows how to play it correctly, I just can't bend both strings at the same frequency, so it sounds horrendously out of tune, so I decided not to record it. When I do it again, I'll try it though.

EDIT: I put my gutair in drop c once. (SoaD lmao) It went out of tune in like 5 minutes.

I could string my Showmaster up with them, its curently in C with .11s (urgh). Im leaving my jackson in standard/D though.

Besides, its pointless, as I still have no way to record.

:lol: I wasn't having a go just to have a go, i posted first time a minute into the recording, but later it became apparent that you need to time your pedal changes a little better...the flange just needs to be toned down a little, and try looking at some midi's of tool songs to get a feel for the little bits and the rythms and stuff...

No 15 dollar computer mic?

Just bend the G. Its similar to the bends Kirk whores all the time (Enter Sandman being the most off-my-head example).

It does require a gain reduction though to get it sounding ok, but some flange might clean up any crappy sound it produces

Yeah, Ben, just pick up a cheap computer mic. It's what I use and it's pretty good quality. At least temporarily it's fine.

EDIT TO BEN AGAIN: I tried playing it 2 different ways- First, I just played the G alone, and it sound good. Then, I played the G3, but I didn't bend the A, and that sounds even better. :D

Its the soundcard thats causing me the problems at the mo.

I can hit that bend pretty well, it's meant to sound real discordant.
