I have Follow the Reaper. What album do you guys think i should get next? I've heard Hatebreeder is amazing.
|
The only way bands make money is from people buying their music and merch. If no one bought any music, bands wouldn't make money. They might be forced to make internet sharing laws more strict and severe, and no one wants that. I'm starting to think that in the decade or so, albums are going to start to be released only on the internet.
Bottom line- burning is for pirates; buy albums. I prefer Hatebreeder. Something Wild doesn't appeal to me that much.
Ah okay..thanks. And bands make money while touring And contracts Too. |
Actually, I was under the impression that bands pretty much break even while touring.
|
Sorry, but what realy do you mean by break ?
|
"Break even". I mean that while touring, bands don't really make or lose money. The money they spend on crew, transportation, food and other expenses is pretty much equal to the money they make on admissions. That's my understanding, at least.

give me some examples ... |
I don't burn good cds, I buy them i.e Bodom, Meshuggah, Nile, Sinergy etc. I used to burn just random songs though but no with my low space I can't do it anymore.
|
/takes a look on his mp3-files
no comment  but i still buy cds of bands i want to support and go to their concerts... and i rarely burn or download new stuff, most of it old albums. i buy the new releases |
i cant find the cd's i want around here so therefore i burn the cd's i cant get but if i had a choice i would rather go out and buy the actual cd then something i made cuz when i make the cd it doesnt seem like one its weird
|
look at this awsome CoB cover, its probably the best one ever
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6991682898296934629&q=children+of+bodom what are they talking about at the end? |
Alexi said that if everyone starts downloading $hit, they're not going to have enough to make new records. Obviously not in a few months but I believe the world of music is gradually going down the drain, as toaster said.

I love how the guitarist went the entire song without playing anything that remotely matched the music.
|
More bullshit "covers" again...

I have to say. Maybe 10 CD's are originals. The rest are personal back up copies. I always pick up a shirt from bands I love and I go to their shows. It doesn't make a difference when you listen to it, your not looking at the CD. |

It's so hilarious when he stops and points at the singer  |

Those fucking cunts deserve to die. Thats highly offensive. People who think that's "covering" CoB can read the above^^^ |
Alexi is yet again in Young Guitar:
Yeah I agree with this. ****ing dickheads.
Here is a comparisiom. CoB fans who laugh at the mocking of CoB by a few retarted fags is the same as, A strongly religous person laughing at and joining in the mocking of their religion. Same thing. BTW. I hate CoB "fans" who enjoy watching their music be mocked. I hate organized religion. |

There is something called a sense of humour, you know. |

good that i bought my cd and went to their concert... they got money (from me) to make a new record :D
I have 14 + GB of music. I have to say. Maybe 10 CD's are originals. over 5700 mp3 files = 29.3GB and i have about 50originals
I have prolly 150 cds that I don't listen to or care about earlier. I used to buy cds... Last cds I bought were. Nile In Their Darkened Shrines Dimmu Borgir DCA and PEM In Flames STYE Those are the last I've bought. |
i too have about 150 cd i don't listen to anymore.... (hip-hop,pop and such stuff :upset: )
last cds i bought CoB - Are you dead, yet NIN - with teeth APC - 13th steps |
I probably download more than I buy, simply because they don't sell much European folk metal in stores...I have been forcing myself to spend money on CDs I really want lately, though. I also buy CDs that I downloaded if I really like the band. An example of this being getting Wintersun from one of the mailing lists and proceeding to order it the next day. I support the bands I like, and I don't buy much of anything for the bands I don't, anyway.
I hardly ever try out bands by buying their CDs...although I ordered the new Amon Amarth from a recommendation and must say it was far from a let-down :) |
I download more than I buy cause I have no fucking money.
I buy when I can though. |
I've been trying to get actual CD's instead of burning. Which is why I asked for all of Children Of Bodom's CD's for my birthday...
Plus, i'm tired of looking at my CD rack and seeing nothing but the crap I used to listen to before I got into Metal. |
:thumb: i agree, i do the same |
Dimmu Borgir DCA and PEM In Flames STYE
that is really great stuff :chug: . the last 4 cds I bought are 4 Dimmu Borigir - For All Tid, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, Spiritual Black Dimensions and Death Cult Armageddon. |
I own about 60 to 70 CD's (that I've bought) and about 170 that I have got from friends/downloaded.
I buy CD's from bands that don't have major record labels. Cause they get money that way. But the real way to support a band is by going to the shows and buying their T-Shirts and stuff like that. |

Good stuff. I buy whenever possible, but metal can be hard to find sometimes, so I download a lot. I own well over 100 albums and about another 100 on my computer. I go to shows, buy merch and CD's, and order stuff online when I can, so I think I'm supporting the bands. |
My life philoshify (besides improving my spelling) is free stuff.
I don't steal from stores. Nothing like that. Just a good ol freebie.... Like 14.59 GB of music... yah... :thumb: |
I actually find a lot of bands just by buying their albums. I don't understand how so many of you people find all the bands you like.
|

It's a little something called mx. I was in the store yesterday contemplating whether or not to buy an album of a band I'd never heard of. I realized I was too jewish to risk my money like that so I got Demons & Wizards. |
