:o I loverz this album. SO good.

I am behind, why is Gav's name changed to Played instead of Play?
Because he cut his wrist bad and can't play for a while, so Alex is screwing with him.

Virus278 11-29-2006 12:13 AM

hey, there's a folder in the Blink rarities that DJ Ducksauce posted that says "untitled 2nd demo". I didn't even know that Blink released a demo after flyswatter (besides the Buddha demo tape).
If 155 was a huge single, then they released Cliff Diving, I reckon they would be one of the biggest bands around at the moment, just because those two would be excellent singles.
I haven't heard WYHSB anywhere though, did it get much airplay in America?
I dont really enjoy 155 for some reason just boring. My cliff diving and chapter xii would be way cooler singles IMO
Because he cut his wrist bad and can't play for a while, so Alex is screwing with him.
Hah, people keep asking him about his name :p

I did aswell.

Yeah, it's even rarer than those two demos. It only has 3 songs which cannot be found anywhere else, but the rest are all different recordings so it's cool to have. The songs that are only found on it are pretty crap though, it's only really for proper fans to add to their collection.

Virus278 11-29-2006 02:49 PM

Oh, i see...better days, untitled #1, and untitled #2. So what would the Buddha version of Voyear qualify as? Would that just be part of the Buddha demo tape?

10571z 11-29-2006 08:14 PM

If you want blink rarities just download a torrent of them....

Or you could just STFU!

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 09:57 PM

I don't see what the point of that was. Honestly, stop giving the guy shit about every single post he makes.

B 11-29-2006 10:40 PM

LOLZ STFU SETH U NUB LOLZ

Yeah I agree it is kind of lame but whatever.

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 10:45 PM

:upset:

B 11-29-2006 10:49 PM

:-*

bottlerocket 11-29-2006 11:03 PM

So do you guys think Enema of the State is the epitome of blink?

When do you think blink was at their peak, musically speaking?

B 11-29-2006 11:07 PM

Always.

Most albums were different enough to not get repetitive, and still be musically decent.

S/T was worse than the rest though.

bottlerocket 11-29-2006 11:08 PM

Yeah...blame that one on "growing up" and the lack of band unity.

Tom was really controlling on that one.

B 11-29-2006 11:09 PM

I know, I've heard in interviews that it was around S/T recording that Tom started changing for the worse.

The rest of their music is all still pretty fun though.

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 11:11 PM

Best musically?

Hmm, probably Dude Ranch. Some decent licks on the guitar and bass on that album, and lots of speed.

I think TOYPAJ was their least musical album.

bottlerocket 11-29-2006 11:13 PM

Enthused is probably the epitome of pop-punk guitar riffs. It's a good example of a pop-punk song.

I think TOYPAJ was their weakest music album, too.

B 11-29-2006 11:13 PM

TOYPAJ may have been the least musical but I still think it was quite good.

All in all none of their albums were overly musical, it's all about the fun.

I think S/T was by far the weakest though.

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 11:15 PM

Ya, I like TOYPAJ quite a bit.

And I thought the untitled album was pretty good. I just can't listen to it a lot in a short period of time.

But "Always" is one of my favorite Blink songs.

bottlerocket 11-29-2006 11:16 PM

I think their musical talent was best shown in Enema of the State.

For Tom and Travis, anyway.

Mark's was on Buddha, since he has actually basslines on that album. After that, he just sort of...gave up.

B 11-29-2006 11:18 PM

S/T had some strong songs yeah. Always is one of my favourites off of it. It also had some songs I have a strong dislike for. Actually mainly I Miss You. Which I absolutely hate.

I also dislike all their joke songs although at first they were sort of fun.

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 11:20 PM

When I first got the album, I really liked "I Miss You" but once the radio got ahold of it, I grew to hate it. Now that I look back on it, if that album came out today, and had never gotten radio play, I dont think I would like I Miss You. Saying it's a boring song would be a compliment.

B 11-29-2006 11:21 PM

I agree wholeheartedly.

bottlerocket 11-29-2006 11:26 PM

The lyrics in that song are so contrived and boring. Tom was trying so hard to be "deep and significant" in that song.

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 11:27 PM

I do like Mark's part in that song, though. It fits him perfectly.

bottlerocket 11-29-2006 11:28 PM

Yeah, the really low, melodic voice.

MattSharpIsCool 11-29-2006 11:35 PM

I'm listening to "21 Days" right now. Such an awesome song.

DJ Ducksauce 11-29-2006 11:39 PM

I love that song as well.

Buddha is a great album. I should probably go buy it when I have money even though I already have it on MP3.

Everlong241 11-30-2006 12:12 PM

Every time I listen to Cliff Diving I can't help but thinking that Tom will sing the next line and how much more awesome the song would be if he did. Mark's voice is too repetitive...

bottlerocket 11-30-2006 01:19 PM

That's (+44)'s most "blink-esque" song, I think. I know what you mean.

MattSharpIsCool 11-30-2006 08:19 PM

It's a bit heavy for Blink, but I guess it's the closest they get.

10571z 12-01-2006 05:13 AM

Is anyone else a fan of chapter xii... I love it my fav on the album..

Surtr 12-01-2006 10:34 AM

I felt that way alot through out the album. I kept waiting for Tom's voice.

Bad Blood 12-01-2006 11:53 AM

yeah

i'd always thought marks voice was a bit 'flat' on it's own.

same with toms

which is why blink worked so well.

poo-poo-pee-pee 12-01-2006 07:06 PM

Thier voices were amazing together:

Man Overboard
Stockholm Syndrome
Rock Show (Live, when they alternate the chorus, it's awsome)
Feeling This
Dammit (Live, when Mark sings the verses, and Tom sings the Chorus)
Stay Together For The Kids
...et cetera.

Damn I miss blink...

While on the topic of blink, check out one of the verses from 'Time To Break Up'
A hidden track from TOYPAJ:
"****, ****, I made a mistake,
I thought I needed a break,
The truth is I'm such a dick,
It's broke and can't be fixed."
Very relevant to the situation now I believe.
If you want blink rarities just download a torrent of them....
I do have those songs. I didn't say i didn't.

bottlerocket 12-01-2006 08:20 PM

Mark and Tom's voices sound great when they sing the final lines of the chorus in "Pathetic":

This is where I belonggggggggg
This is where I beloooooooooooooooooooooooonggggg

And they harmonize.

Surtr 12-01-2006 08:20 PM

I actually just listened to Blink for the first time in a long time.

I didn't listen to much, but I got in 5-6 songs.

MattSharpIsCool 12-02-2006 12:33 AM

Pathetic just might be Blink's pinnacle as a band.
