Godhead's Lament I could see where you're coming from, Dunky, but Bleak? Cmon man...Bleak has a kickass intro.

It has a really gay* vocal line that pisses me off. :p

Shattered - Yep, Bleak has a pretty solid intro and ending, and the mid section. I just can't stand Stevens vocals there! I'm sorry! :upset:

I don't see the greatness of Bleak. Godhead's Lament is really awesome, but Bleak isn't anything special in my eyes.

I really dig Godheads Lament, that's a great song. Bleak is cool, I've listened to that song so many times though...it's starting to wear and tear.

Wilson's vocals DO get a bit annoying, yes, but the riffage throughout that is just phenomanal.

Bleak? I actually think it's perfect for the song, especially in the lyrics. They are some of the coolest lyrics I've ever seen in a chorus. I like the verse's, my god god that song is powerful. I better give BWP a break until Fall, it's wearing and tearing...:lol:

I like his vocals a lot on that song, I love singing along with the chorus, I definitely can't scream along with Akerfeldt, that's for sure :lol:

The same thing happened to me when I first started listening to the band. I was a little dissapointed by that fact though, as I loved Wilson's vocals in that song and thought that it was one of the song's very high points.

I can proudly say I can sing along with Akefeldt...or growl, however you want to put it.

Wilson does a decent job with the vocals, but Akefeldt could have done much better, I think.

I can for about 20 seconds, then I start coughing blood and lose my voice for about 3 weeks...

Growling only really hurts after about an hour of going straight for me. I find that I take a couple minutes to find my "zone" anyway.

If you've ever happened to see them play it live he does them. They're very impressive.

Yeah, like Steven Wilson says in the Lamentations Documentary Mike has an awesome clean voice, more like Thom Yorke etc...which seperates him from pretty much all other Metal singers... < His words.

Now Opeth related, I want to continue learning BRI later on tonight. I'm at the 16 minute mark where there is a solo. I'll learn the riffs behind it. I practiced those riffs a little but the timing is still off by a little.

I'm still practicing those riffs at around 16:00. I need a nice acoustic to play some of the riffs on BRI like I want it to sound.
