I would refer to their first CD as Metalcore with HEAVY Southern Rock influences, but their recent album, II, is just Southern Rock.

I guess cause metalcore doesn't have much core in it usually in the first place, its just a certain kind of metal most of the time.

it still baffles me, especially since kids in my area don't differentiate between metalcore and hardcore, it's all just hardcore to them

yeah I kinda giggled when a friend of mine called The Chariot hardcore. I mean they aren't really metalcore either but when I think hardcore I think more toughguy rise up stuff.

In REAL metalcore, you can definitely hear the hardcore influence. You can't hear the hardcore influence in most **** nowadays because it's all moshXcore and pop punk bands trying to be heavy type **** that's being deemed metalcore, but it really isn't at all.
