Obviously, you're an idiot.

Tyler 12-07-2007 08:16 PM

nah guns n roses are pretty boring and awful.

Invicta_Veritas 12-07-2007 08:18 PM

Gun's N' Roses, regardless of recent idiocy surrounding Axl Rose, were a landmark band who influenced a great many modern bands and had solid music. I peresonally think that you can't take some modern hardcore band and call the respect level equal.

Tyler 12-07-2007 08:23 PM

Why? It's not like Guns and Roses did anything worthy of my respect. I dont care about their sales, music or their influence on bands I generally dislike.

Plus dudes in Zombie Apocalypse were in Shai Hulud who did more for Metalcore than GNR did for Hard Rock, yknow?

Your personal respect level is irrelevant to thier impact on music, imo.
Shai Hulud...did more for Metalcore than GNR did for Hard Rock, yknow?
Um, I don't think so.

Tyler 12-07-2007 08:27 PM

What did GNR do that was so unique and important? They recorded some songs people liked to get drunk and air guitar to. Big ****ing deal.

ATM 12-07-2007 08:29 PM

My family had a band in the 80's called Diarrhea Roses.

good point, the glam rock scene is huge now, and nobody ever listens to metalcore.

What did Shai Hulud ever do that was so unique and imporatant? They recorded some songs that kids can xbreakdancex to. Big ****ing deal.

LifeInABox 12-07-2007 10:39 PM

This is kind of a gay argument.

Invicta_Veritas 12-07-2007 10:48 PM

I don't have anything really against Shai Hulud; I just don't think it's okay to put them on the same status level as GNR.

i am the robots 12-07-2007 10:49 PM

Shai Hulud is on a level wellllll above GNR, POISON was huge when GNR was huge, shut the hell up.

Invicta_Veritas 12-07-2007 10:51 PM

GNR put bands like Poison six feet under. They were the anti-glam band that destroyed hair metal.

Everybody sees the vid for Welcome to the Jungle and makes assuptions. That video was making fun of the glam scene. Axl and Slash couldn't stand the whole glam scene.

i am the robots 12-07-2007 10:58 PM

Their music is still incredibly lame.

Invicta_Veritas 12-07-2007 11:24 PM

Tell that to the hundreds of bands and musicians, including myself, who cite them as one of thier biggest musical influences/inspirations.

Many of whom YOU listen to, smart ass.

i am the robots 12-07-2007 11:28 PM

Led Zeppelin's influential, they must be good too.

i am the robots 12-07-2007 11:30 PM

Metallica is the best metal band ever cause of how influential they are.

Tyler 12-07-2007 11:34 PM

Influencing people to write music has nothing to do with them actually writing influential music, which is to say they inspired, not influenced. Their music was not revolutionary, as you are seemingly trying to imply.

i am the robots 12-07-2007 11:36 PM

Shai Hulud however was a band who's sound has been cloned to a very high degree in modern metalcore.

Invicta_Veritas 12-07-2007 11:43 PM

Shai Hulud is just about as overrated as Converge. I'm so sick of hearing about those two bands.

Botch is where it's at, but no, all the glory goes to those two faggotty bands.
