The Drones are coming to the glass house :]
And High on Fire.

!

pixiesfanyo 10-07-2007 01:42 PM

I'm going to see Boris and Converge so I'll have to probably take a break from shows until The Drones.

Anxious 10-07-2007 01:50 PM

I'm seeing The Black Lips, The Go! Team, Circle Takes the Square, probably The Drones then High on Fire between now and December.

I love living near the glasshouse.

A Dead Modernist 10-07-2007 01:53 PM

I would love to see Circle Takes the Square. However The Black Lips played my highschool music "festival", I didn't bother going even though I heard they put on a crazy show.

Thanks 10-07-2007 01:58 PM

I might go see Melt Banana, They Might Be Giants, and Man Man. And I might not. The first and last are 40 minutes away, and I ain't got a car. The middle is $25...

A Dead Modernist 10-07-2007 02:00 PM

I just downloaded Man Man, its great! ^_^

Do you work during the day?

Anxious 10-07-2007 02:12 PM
Do you work during the day?
School and work occupy pretty much all of my time. I take nights off work for shows though.

pixiesfanyo 10-07-2007 02:13 PM

How can you afford to take off that many nights is what I mean?

dei 10-07-2007 02:16 PM

I've never been to the Glasshouse. How is that?

A Dead Modernist 10-07-2007 02:17 PM

I live in Georgia!

dei 10-07-2007 02:21 PM

I don't know if I should see Man Man. People have told me their live show is good but I'm not all that crazy about their music and I'll most likely get tickets through Ticketmaster and they rape with the extra fees.

Anxious 10-07-2007 02:22 PM
How can you afford to take off that many nights is what I mean?
I go to the glasshouse maybe once a month or less and generally my shifts end at about the right time to not miss a show. Sometimes not, but I only work part time so I have money for gas and thats about it.

okay 10-07-2007 02:25 PM

if your not that crazy about them idk if you should go. im not that crazy about them and i went to see them: they put on a great show and i could see how a fan would have fun but it just wasnt that fun for me.

Robert Crumb 10-07-2007 03:06 PM

Man Man play here later this month. I've heard they're good live, too. I passed last time, I'll probably pass this time.

perriwinkle 10-07-2007 03:33 PM

dont dude

Don't miss it at all. At all. Trust me. It'll probaly be cheap, and it is way worth it.

okay 10-07-2007 04:18 PM

they put on a really good show but if your not a big fan dont go

Doctor D. 10-07-2007 05:45 PM
they put on a really good show but if your not a big fan dont go
Not true, I went with my friend who never heard of Man man before, and she absolutely loved it. If you like them a little bit you'll love it. Guaranteed .

okay 10-07-2007 05:55 PM

im not a big fan and i went to their show here and i was frankly kinda bored with it

Doctor D. 10-07-2007 06:09 PM

O.K. But most people enjoy it.

Interstate 10-08-2007 02:40 AM

I really need to start going to more gigs. It'll probably be by myself no less but still...

okay 10-08-2007 02:43 AM

i go to shows by myself all the time; its still fun

Interstate 10-08-2007 02:45 AM
i go to shows by myself all the time; its still fun
Yeah that's the only way I'm gonna be able to go because I live about 3 hours away from all my friends, (at my girlfriend's) so meeting up is difficult.

okay 10-08-2007 02:46 AM

yeah, plus you can meet new friends at shows too

Interstate 10-08-2007 02:47 AM

That is true. I noticed you are new to MX. Welcome :thumb:

br3ad_man 10-08-2007 04:29 AM

I prefer going to shows by myself than talking people into coming who aren't really into it.

Zmev 10-08-2007 04:36 AM

I'd feel like the people are all looking at me.

But I usually feel like that anyway

Liebensaft 10-08-2007 01:27 PM

I went to Defiance, Ohio alone yesterday. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. And it was inside of a church.

Tremens 10-08-2007 01:32 PM

woah a show inside of a church

get outta heyah

A Dead Modernist 10-08-2007 01:36 PM

i drag people along/get dragged along as far as shows are concerned

fathergoat 10-08-2007 04:07 PM

I am looking for some depressing/darker/more emotional indie, anyone got any suggestions? :(
Thanks :thumb:

okay 10-08-2007 04:28 PM

joy division

Bukowski 10-08-2007 04:29 PM

The Cure (80s)

mood is dark, lyrics are emo as ****. Perfect!

perriwinkle 10-08-2007 04:31 PM

the cure and codeine

edit **** beaten to cure

sometimes its so emo and depressing its tiring.. but thats what youre lookin for

Bukowski 10-08-2007 04:37 PM

Codeine is a good call as well. Awesome band.

get the song Halloween by Sonic Youth. Really dark, and it's my current favourite SY song.

YDload 10-08-2007 04:39 PM

i remember NPC saying it was his favorite Sonic Youth song too. interesting, i wonder if the copy of Bad Moon Rising available for d/l at Sordo has the bonus tracks on it
