You would enjoy it, I would enjoy it...90% of the world wouldn't.

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 02:16 PM

hmm true. But the world is pretty screwed up. 40 ppl die in britain. . .wich is tragic and bam there is this mayor news coverage everywere and everyones like wow! while in Africa a kid dies every 3 . 5 seconds and we pay atention to it only when the 20 biggest radio whores line up to sing together! and heck its only cause of them cause if it were some random metal ban playing for the relief no one would go like we discussed here clear vision

what a world we live in huh!

btw maynard shoulve been o live 8 with tool or apc singing a cover from emotive or some tool cover from some peace song. . . :(

clearvision 07-07-2005 02:23 PM

And everyone would be like who is the bald twat with the good voice?

TBH I was at london's live 8, and there was me cheering for slash, and people around me were like wtf?

People do care about africa, though it often slips peoples minds. People dying in london is what? 20 miles from my house? My mum could have been on a train etc, it's a helluva lot closer to home for most people. Plus the fact it interrupted the G8 summi,t the worlds most notorious terrorist organisation have claimed responsability for the attacks etc....

Is why there is coverage everywhere...

And with africa, it's mainly the dictators that screw up the country, people are trying ot help the situation and stuff. With the london blasts it is a shock and it couldn't have been anticipated or prevented really.

Now I could've swore this was the Tool thread yesterday :p

I really need to check out Mike Patton related work.. I've heard a good amount of Faith No More and I like some of it, but none of Tomahawk or Fantomas. Both did tour with Tool though.

Tool who?

Dried Muffin Remnants 07-07-2005 05:52 PM

I don't like Faith No More. I think Mr. Bungle is the SH!T though. Check out Mr. Bungle's California, It's one of my favorite albums.

Is Mr. Bungle a nu-metal type band? In comparison to Faith No More.

Isis - Celestial

This is some good sludge metal. I realize that a lot of Tool fans in here are metalheads too...this is good stuff.

You'll have to listen to them to classify them. I think of them as indie-prog, but I really don't know. They can be heavy at times and cartoonish at times. But they're listenable, unlike the Fantomas IMO. Here listen to this:

These guys are good.. I saw a few songs by them live last week.. it was very good.. I walked early though, because I wanted to listen to a band I knew the music of beforehand instead

Lateralias 07-07-2005 06:47 PM

Yes Isis are an awesome band, very atmospheric. Reminds me of Sigur Ros in a heavier way.

Thanks for the upload In Chains, I like this song... it's... strange, and interesting! But good so far.

Daven 07-07-2005 07:22 PM

i only know that messhuggah opened for tool in some concerts

Lateralias 07-07-2005 07:32 PM
i only know that messhuggah opened for tool in some concerts
Yes they toured with Tool on the Lateralus tour, hence the next album being heavier with their Meshuggah influence.

Daven 07-07-2005 07:35 PM

yeah, a friend told me that the new album will be heavier by mesuggah's influence. im just praying for it to be amazing and it will

Dude3 07-07-2005 07:44 PM

Guys. go check the Pit. Some guy just made a thread on Tool, asking if the Salival comes with a little blotter of acid.

Daven 07-07-2005 07:46 PM

oh yeah he posted about he buying the salival cd and finding small square that people claims to be acid

YouGottaBeCrazy 07-07-2005 08:09 PM

Anybody check out Tool's website today?

"TOOL

Across the vast gulfs of cyberspace it tumbled, one of several dozens just like it on any given day, arriving in my mailbox on July 6th at precisely 11:55 PM.

SUBJECT: QUESTION

“I know that you probably get this all the time but is Tool coming out with a new CD some time?..”

YES … but for various reasons the album is being recorded in relative secrecy… I would say even more so than past recording sessions and related TOOL projects. Since this is the band’s decision and, ultimately, they are the ones in charge of the website (as well as being some of my closest friends), I am not going to betray their trust (although I can’t resist hiding a few things amid seemingly unrelated posts), even though I am painfully… painfully... painfully aware that there are some Tool enthusiasts out there who seem to need this info, not unlike some junkies need a heroin fix. That said, when members of the band and/or their manager decide to release certain details pertaining to the recording process ••• – •• – – • – – , as well as any projected time-tables, etc., it will most certainly be posted on the band’s official website. To think otherwise is, quite frankly, absurd! This could be tomorrow, or two days from now, or in a couple of weeks or even a month from now. At this stage, I honestly don’t know. But what I do know is that the members of the band are working hard and, as the saying goes, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope this answers your question."

Do you really think he's been dropping hints of the new album in his otherwise meaningless updates? Anyone wanna' go search for them? And what the hell is that symbol thing with the dots and lines?

TheSubtleArts 07-07-2005 08:18 PM

thats cool, i hope this means it will at least have a release date soon.

A hint?

Actually, it may be Morse Code!?!?!?!?!?!?
Hmmmmm.........

Daven 07-07-2005 08:21 PM

i really dont care how much it takes to the album to come out. I just want it to be their best album and that all the effort they're doing has a reward by the tons of fans that they have......

dUSK 07-07-2005 08:23 PM
Actually, it may be Morse Code!?!?!?!?!?!?
It's not. I checked and got "stittett"

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 08:33 PM

blair blair blair. . .

I get a feeling will be learning some dates soon

I can feel the updates coming. I don't know why, call me crazy, but I just think they are coming very soon.

They should make a commercial, where it just shows a silent black screen, and slowly fades "Tool" onto the screen. That would be so awesome.

BlindWriting 07-07-2005 08:43 PM
It's not. I checked and got "stittett"
I got stimem.

/Just as confused.

Man, I would crap my pants right then and there.

Dude3 07-07-2005 08:45 PM

But whatever the code spells out, could be a clue to something else.

/I wish/

dUSK 07-07-2005 08:46 PM
I got stimem.

/Just as confused.
That was the other option I got. However, the site I looked at stated that a space indicated a new letter. -- would be an "m", but - - (like it is in the update) equals "tt".

See my reasoning?

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 08:49 PM

its gotta mean something. or probably nothing.Blair i just messing around like he always does

Dude3 07-07-2005 08:56 PM

I googled those words. Stimem got some very interesting and noteworthy results.

Stimem = Stimulated Emission

Go google it for yourself. There are hundreds of results, that I don't feel like looking at.

By the way, Stimulated Emission makes me think of "Out of Body Experiences", and other weird things that Tool would take interest in.

LP|Stang 07-07-2005 09:05 PM

Oh my goodness! Tool rocks my *******! WHOA!

Stittet! The new album name! Oh my GOD! Tool is like, so enlightening!

It's a band, not a science project.

I see you haven't experieced the acid trip, known as "Tool".

LP|Stang 07-07-2005 09:12 PM

They're my favorite band actually. However, that's all they are.

TerryThorne 07-07-2005 09:23 PM

we all know that, but I think it's quite understandable that some people get a little carried away with them.
They're my favorite band actually. However, that's all they are.
Well, they are very intelligent people. Maybe this "Stimem" has something to do with their new album. I'm not goinjg to de-code this crap or anything, but its very likely to be true.

Look at Lateralus.

TerryThorne 07-07-2005 09:29 PM

I'm not a big math fan so I end up not getting most of Tool's little secrets (primarily in Lateralus)

LP|Stang 07-07-2005 09:30 PM

What about it? It's excellent music, I listen to it on a regular basis. Lots of odd time signatures, interesting lyrics/subject content.

However, I don't see Blair being so obvious with morse code.

Hell, he probably gets a kick out of everyone rushing to "decipher" it.

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 09:30 PM

blair has talked a lot about area 51 and ****.. perhaps the new stuff maybe sci fi related?
