I'm thinking about getting these

http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AHD1001K-On-Ear-Headphones-Black/dp/B000UPBQQC

Good idea?

the2stranger 04-11-2009 05:43 AM

They look pretty sweet.
I can't judge about the quality.
But those big *** headphones usually have good bass.
They're usually very comfortable too.

Sup?
I'm going to have some food and go to the trainstation, cause I'm going to an awesome gig tonight.

rasputin 04-11-2009 06:07 AM

Never tried one of those. I have a Bose QC2 which has noise canceling. I travel a lot so I'm in love with it. I recommend that you check the Sennheisers out. Not the noise canceling ones tho, the HD ones.

rasputin 04-11-2009 06:10 AM

I have a Sennheiser HD line and it's good but their speakers are really fragile. Drop it once, and it ****s up the speaker, in a way that makes it less audible than the other. Listening to music thus becomes a headache. It happened to my second pair recently, I'm hoping there's still a warranty on it.
which gig?
This:
Officium Triste, Evoken, Mourning Beloveth, Isole, Longing For Dawn and Mournful Congregation

So awesome.

rasputin 04-11-2009 06:26 AM
Officium Triste, Evoken, Mourning Beloveth, Isole, Longing For Dawn and Mournful Congregation
i hate being stuck in australia. there would never be a show like that here.

once uni is done i'm out of here.

the2stranger 04-11-2009 06:27 AM

Mournful Congregation is from Australia though.
Where would you like to move to once you're finished?

rasputin 04-11-2009 06:31 AM

yeah they're from australia, but as you can see they're playing in the netherlands and not here =P

once I'm done I plan to travel central asia and then do post-grad studies in istanbul and then perhaps in either germany or austria. not sure where i'll end up, depends on where i find work.

the2stranger 04-11-2009 06:36 AM

Yeah, MC are quite on the other side of the world now.
But I mean, chances are pretty high they also perform in Australia. :p

Studying in Turkey?
Interesting.

But I'm out now, otherwise I'll miss my train to the gig.
2,5 hours by train.
meh.

Bye!
But I mean, chances are pretty high they also perform in Australia
yeah maybe a few shows in the eastern states, but hardly ever here. i'm not sure if they've even come to western australia, the metal scene here sucks, let alone even having a doom scene.
Studying in Turkey?
Interesting.
yeah the bosphorus university has some fantastic politics post grad courses that i'm interested in, plus i need to live in istanbul for a little while, at the very least.

enjoy the gig dude

Do you have a uni. in your mind in Istanbul? Btw you should come to the metal festival this year in Istanbul :p

edit: Saw your post about Bogazici University.

rasputin 04-11-2009 06:54 AM

yeah bogazici is where i've set my sights, but that's still a few years off.

when's the festival? I'll be in Turkey at the very end of the year/early january for a month or so before I head over to Vienna for exchange. I'm guessing it's before then.

Ventriloquist 04-11-2009 06:59 AM

It's in July. So far they announced: Rotting Christ, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Paradise Lost. Two more will be announced, one of them is probably going to be Kreator there are also some Turkish metal bands. Not the best festival but it's really good considering the previous years lol. Also there is a Dream Theater/Cynic gig on 7th of July.

rasputin 04-11-2009 07:13 AM

Ah okay, I won't be there but it's not too amazing. I'm still depressed about the doom gig :(
I'm hoping to go to a bunch of good shows when I'm in Europe, I'm sure there'll be heaps.

Yeah, I'm just going for Amon Amarth. Last year was better we had: Opeth, Orphaned Land, Testament, Dark Tranquillity.

Dude that sounds awesome! I've never been out of the country in my life :( but I plan on studying abroad in Paris, and they have the Louve there so it should rock pretty hard if the Frenchies don't kill me for being American.
