i just wrote much stuff that got deleted....

Rap is good music for thoose who listen to it, so yeah, it count as music, though its often the same.... but 100000000000000000000000 personalitys that are exactly the same often express them self the same way..:p
I wouldn't say I'm a rap fan. As a genre I wouldn't listen to it, but The Streets and Eminem both do some very good stuff. 50 Cent, So Solid Crew, etc... only do really meaningless stuff for me.

I guess that would make me a fan of white rap.

I bought The Ultimate Pogues the other day...it's really good...I might have to cover Sally McLennanne with my band. Is that a crime?

Can't wait until Reading, less then four months now :)

I'm a great fan of The Streets, and some of the more intelligent rap (step forward Public Enemy), and Grand Master Flash is great too, as are the Beasties (jewish white middle-class rappers :amaze:). But that's really the extent of it.

deadeddie 05-04-2005 01:07 PM
 You haven't included any of the newer stuff
u mean like brave new world and dance of death :D

deadeddie 05-04-2005 01:26 PM
To tell you the truth, I don't think Cliff Burton is that good. I was playing that Bass solo song like 3 weeks after I got my Bass, the bends did sound a little off though.

I've only just started to get Steves Gallop rhythm mastered. :D
I'm a bassist also but i'm not that good from the way u say it u sound really good :thumb:

i tolerate the streets, but Eminem isn't bad, a lot of his stuff's just hilarous.

Cliff played the Bass, that makes him a bassist... dont it? even if he used overdrive and Wah on Bass....

Stew_Blink 05-04-2005 06:37 PM
Maby its a sign! Eddie is Teh EVLILIE!
It could be a sign..that..the world is gonna end in the 1800's..lol. I was bored so I searched up 666 in google..and there was a sight that said "Proof that the world will end in 1998!" lol..I laughed for about 10 minutes at it :p

When Metallica found him he played bass. They picked him up because they recognize he was special. Not many guitarists (next to none) could pll off what he did on a bass.

Deth 05-04-2005 07:16 PM

He was special, no doubt, but even as a Metallica Fanboy, I think he's a tad overrated.

But a lot of bassists could. I don't find any of the early Metallica songs very difficult to play on bass, although my Fender Jazz doesn't have enough frets to play the solo in "Orion," it's definitely possible.

Steve > Cliff. This is not debatable!

rhcp pman 05-05-2005 01:21 AM

I think that Steve Harris is definitely better than Cliff Burton, both skill wise and influentially. Harris made the bass a lot more important than it previously was in metal. Also, I think Cliff Burton is a horribly overrated bassist and this is coming from someone who likes both Iron Maiden and Metallica. I'd like someone to give me a reason why Cliff Burton was one of the best bassists ever because I think that he is undoubtedly a good bassist, but I don't think he is anything more.

MetalMilitiaMan 05-05-2005 01:52 AM

either way i cant wait to see harris in ozzfest
