He does have tattoes. I remember in grade 8 doing research on Mark, Tom and Travis and I talked about their tattoes, and I remember Mark having some.

The conversation was about Mark's tatoos on his wrist, and someone decided to assume it was Jack from the song, not realizing his son's name was Jack.
