Well, it was the Replacements' Tim, but you couldn't see that one at all, so I changed it to something a little more recognizable at such a small size. Such a small, small size.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 02:08 PM

The big avatar would be a waste on me, as all I'd do is resize the one I have now, which is pretty much the one I've always had.

pedro durruti 11-30-2006 02:23 PM

You had Double Nickels on the Dime for a long time, didn't you?

AndreTheHyena 11-30-2006 02:23 PM

How old are you, DBG? And how old does one have to be to be an MX Granpappy?
You had Double Nickels on the Dime for a long time, didn't you?
That's true! I did. I changed it to this when I came back in 2005 after that long hiatus.

I'm 35 years old, and to become an MX Granpappy you have to nurture your "children" and leave a lasting impression upon the community you choose to educate. I think. Also, you have to be cranky, righteous, and ready to spit on the young people of the world in the name of elderly wisdom. I think I did the first part well enough in here, and I am proud to be a part of the punk forum, for those that remember me in here anyways.

Or something.

AndreTheHyena 11-30-2006 02:40 PM

Well, I'm not that old, and I don't do anything to educate or nurture anyone, nor do I leave a lasting impression. I am, however, cranky, righteous, and ready to spit. And I joined only a year after you (on a different name).

My day will come eventually, and I too will be an MX Granpappy.

If I were you I'd aspire to be a little more than that.

And I think you've established a place in the annals of the MX punk forum's history.

I think the guys would agree. You've been here a while now.

AndreTheHyena 11-30-2006 03:05 PM

You're making me blush. And what else could I possibly want to aspire to? Nothing I can think of.

AIRIC 11-30-2006 03:24 PM

Yeah Andrew you're established yourself in punk forum history except cowboys are really gay so I dunno.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 03:37 PM

What was your first name Andre?

I hate it when people change their names. Drives me nuts.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 04:19 PM

I'm a young one on these here forums.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 04:33 PM

That's ok.

We all start someplace when we come here.

Glitterati 11-30-2006 05:04 PM

when i first came here i was scared to post here because im not punk.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 05:05 PM

I wasn't either.

The beauty of teh web is you can be whatever you want and no one will ever know.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 05:06 PM

I never was a punk in real life but on the internet I can always pretend right?

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 05:07 PM

Yeah Ethan how the devil did you ever end up in here?

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 05:13 PM

Everyone has a little punk living inside them even if they don't know it.

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 05:15 PM

That's not true! What about Nepalese toddlers?

pedro durruti 11-30-2006 05:26 PM

Didn't Nepalese people just win a rebellion? That's pretty damn punk.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 05:52 PM

Dude. The people of Nepal are total punk rock. Buddism is soo punk.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 05:59 PM
Yeah Ethan how the devil did you ever end up in here?
I liked punk when I showed up, I just have never been 'punx'.

asdf 11-30-2006 06:48 PM

Me too?

I don't even like all that much punk.

What am I doing here?

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 07:16 PM

You were drawn by the DIY Thread.

asdf 11-30-2006 07:22 PM

I know for a fact that my first few posts when I first joined this forum in 2003 were in the punk forum. Long before DIY.

back in the days of dkpinhead.

_Mote_ 11-30-2006 07:48 PM

By the words of the Descendents, I'm not punk. Never dressed it, I guess I kind of act 'punk' at time (if you would consider it a personallity trait), and a lot or most people don't know I listen to punk.

w00t for me.

Bukowski 11-30-2006 07:53 PM

Some of my closest friends are very into punk - ie. nofx, bad religion, lagwagon, general fat wreck chords bands, etc. I used to be too, but I (shamefully) got into "indie" like The Libertines/Killers/Razorlight and (thankfully) eventually into Pavement/Pixies/Radiohead, which got me into all kinds of different stuff.

anyway

Liebensaft 11-30-2006 08:24 PM

I don't listen to punk rock very often anymore. In fact, it's virtually never. Huh.

Brain Toad 11-30-2006 08:29 PM

Fuck Punk

Jessizzle 11-30-2006 08:36 PM

i am so punk it hurts.

asdf 11-30-2006 08:46 PM

I love how more than half the punk forum is going away from enjoying punk music, yet still posts here all the time.
