I honestly think all that "Holy Gift" stuff isn't real.. but it's interesting and fun to listen to.

Agreed. Fun to listen to, but most of it seems a bit forced.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-06-2005 10:57 PM

It's fun to consider it though. It's really amazing stuff. :amaze:

Mr Herb 07-06-2005 10:58 PM

And heck it could be true. . .could be

Yeah and it's not like we have anything better (Tool-related) to do.

Reflection 07-06-2005 11:38 PM
Yep, thats what I'm talking about. I went ahead and did it a while back, and here's how the final product looked on a screen. I must say that the intro turned out to be very cool.

Hey could you link me to a site that tell you hwo to properly set that up? Or if you could post how to do it. Thanks.
i didnt like their no quarter. they butchered up a good song.
123. Most Tool fans would say that the Tool version is better, but I disagree. You can hardly understand what Maynard is singing in the verses. The original is a classic, not a mediocre song.

Its in DAT format, so I don't know if it will work for everyone. :-/
Can anyone please reupload part one :) please please

barnz1986 07-07-2005 07:08 AM
Nah, Tool's version was better, most people will agree.
no way. led zeps was way better than tools. in my opinion. but, i respec your judgment. i will no way influence you to like led zeps way of no quarter, than tools. but led zeps is better. :)

clearvision 07-07-2005 07:13 AM

Maynards voice is so distant in the tool version, it gives it a really ethreal sp? atmosphere. Also the whispering in the verses creeps me out quite a bit. PLus im not much of a zep fan...

dUSK 07-07-2005 07:14 AM

Would anyone here be able to help me with some amps settings for Disposition on Bass? I rarely get to use my bass and I really want to be able to play it (with it sounding decent). Please note I also have a lack of effect and no Whammy.

I also ahve trouble getting the correct sound but I dunno play around with the controls on the amp and your tone and **** til you get something right. Also make sure you have the right tuning!

Moses 07-07-2005 11:57 AM
Sorry, didn't mean(sp?) to do that :upset: you're voice isn't that bad, but its not ment for singin maynard songs, when i first heard it i thought that it fitted more in something like a punk, hardcore or metal band. Sorry again for making you feel bad :upset:
No, you didn't make me feel bad at all. I just relistened to it and realized how bad of a job I did. I would be able to do alot better and that's what I was disappointed by.

Will you re record it?

Moses 07-07-2005 12:03 PM

If I have time by the deadline which might happen.

I won't rerecord everything though, just the crappy parts.

Deadline? I dont think we'll be working towards any deadline at this rate

He also takes away the great melody that you can hear Plant sing perfectly in the original. If anything, the Zeppelin version has the creepier singing in the verses. By the way, I DO like the Tool version, it's just not that great IMO.

Dried Muffin Remnants 07-07-2005 12:29 PM

The Zeppelin version is not nearly as haunting nor as dark/heavy. It seems too light for a song that should be more haunting IMO. Maybe it drags on a little too much in Tool's version, but I like it more.

I love when Maynard sings through the megaphone for some reason.
Deadline? I dont think we'll be working towards any deadline at this rate
It's August 1st I believe.

clearvision 07-07-2005 12:32 PM

Yeah Maynard + megaphone = awsome

NP : Bjork - where is the line ... Lmao it features Rahzel beatboxing, he is so funny.

Dried Muffin Remnants 07-07-2005 12:33 PM

Rahzel's a **** good rapper.

Huber 07-07-2005 12:58 PM

Isn't Rahzel the guy from SSX?

Yeah, I know little to nothing about rap/hip-hop.

Edit: Or just that guy...

denboy 07-07-2005 01:09 PM

Rahzel is from the roots? I think.. I saw him with Mike Patton.. Crazy shit

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 01:12 PM

Mike Patton is wild. Id like to see him hook up with tool for a song or even better a tour

denboy 07-07-2005 01:22 PM

Tomahawk opened for Tool a couple of times didn't they?.. So I guess that would've been the chance for it to happen

clearvision 07-07-2005 01:26 PM

Hmm Paton was best with FNM...

Knifeboy, which Drdge album first?

Rothmans 07-07-2005 01:26 PM
Tomahawk opened for Tool a couple of times didn't they?.. So I guess that would've been the chance for it to happen
Fantomas did. I dont know about tomohawk though.

Beat me to it.

denboy 07-07-2005 01:35 PM
Knifeboy, which Drdge album first?
Depends.. Leitmotif (their first) is really raw.. (Bad description, I know.. Hehe).. El Cielo is one of the most pleasant cd's I've ever heard, both production wise, and songwriting..
And their new Catch Without Arms is really energetic.

Go download, symbol song (leitmotif), sanzen (el cielo), and ode to the sun (catch) and see wich one you prefer.. then get that album..

And about Tomahawk, I seem to remember reading an article about tomahawk pissing tool fans off.. Because that was the whole reason Tomahawk was created.. To annoy fans of other bands when warming up for them

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 01:44 PM

Fantomas tomahwk. cool.

there should be a metal live 8 or some **** like that. . .thatd rock. .

clearvision 07-07-2005 01:44 PM

Sanzen sold me completeley, thanks :)

EDIT: Herbtones, a metal live 8 wouldn't work. The idea of live 8 was to get people to be aware of G8 etc. If it was a metal thing, how much coverage would it get. The reaction of audioslave, muse, velvet revolver and even linkin park were pretty poor. Imagine if metal bands played, poor reaction, no coverage, therefore the event would fail.

Plus there are enough metal festivals about...Roskilde, Ozzfest, Download etc etc etc

Mr Herb 07-07-2005 01:50 PM

hmmm But if all the famous metal bands united, even if that ha to include slipknot well thatd create some attention dude. And the cocnerts woudnt be as big as the live 8, not so many venues.

But your prob right. . .the average dude dsnt like metal a lot

clearvision 07-07-2005 01:56 PM

The concert wouldn't be big atall, check out how much coverage download got in england this year... 2 1hr specials on C4 showing mainly Garbage etc...and a little bit of coverage on kerrang, again showing mainly the singles that bands played..slipknots duality etc

denboy 07-07-2005 01:57 PM
Sanzen sold me completeley, thanks :)
Good boy!.. That's my favorite Dredg song.. Hehehe

clearvision 07-07-2005 01:58 PM

The rest of the album bedder live up to this!
